Month: December 2005

  • Wooo I found a local access number.   I can be online without guilt.

Its not DSL, but its way better then what I was doing.  *cheers*

And did you know hitting your funny bone is just not funny???

  • Good morning

Its amazing how much better one feels when they sleep a bit, and don't have nightmares.  *cheers*

And our moving is DONE.   We handed the keys over, and we're
DONE.   My dad was unable to bring his truck, and we weren't
sure what we were going to do about the Hot Tub, except ask for an
extension.  I mentioned it very much in passing to a lady at
church, and she said "K" has a truck and trailer (her
husband)   A few minutes later he was agreeing to do
it.  *cheers*  Of course he said he was considering just
dropping it off at his house.  *snigger*

So, all done.  It feels very very good to have that weight off our
shoulders.   A bit of stuff in the van, but its all yard
stuff and nothing to mess up the inside of the house.

I'm still very curious as to where our Christmas stockings went...all
the boxes are marked books, and no Christmas stockings.   I
think I'm going to have to open each one, cause obviously one is NOT
books.  *snort*    Or we could use old fashioned
    ugly socks this year....

Other then that little mystery we're in, we're comfy, and we even have
a working coat closet.   The laundry room  needs about 5
minutes of my tweaking, and thats it.  ALL DONE.  All
    unpacked.

Throws moving boxes around like confetti.

I even have Christmas lights up in my deck.  Very pretty.   They were a splurge at Walmart LOL.

So, now back to school.   We will be starting in a few
minutes.   Gotta do about 10 lessons of blends.  Ya know
sounds like th, ch, sh.   And then the kiddos reading program
will be truely finished.    We're starting some joint
Math stuff, as Zeria's still having troubles identifying double diget
numbers without thinking, and its time for Samuel & Kaylin to start
learning that.   So, we'll do it all together and make it a
    game.  May as well.

Zeria is READING.   She reads signs, and things on the tv,
and books without being prompted.  *cheers*   She's
still not quite doing chapter books, but very very close.  I'm
soooooooooooo happy!     And Kaylin and Samuel are
not far behind.  Kaylin managed to work out that the sign in the
restaurant said Closed.  I was very happy for her.

Each of them read a whole book to Grandma & Grandpa when they were here which was also cool.    So, school.

My goal is to get them good readers.   When they are "truely"
reading I'm going to convert to a much more relaxed school setting for
them.   We will do library trips, and unit
studies.   My kids have a huge natural curiosity, and I will
    just coax it along.

Topics of study on the list right now are salmon, beavers, and
eagles.    We have beavers who have been cutting down
alders on the river.   We haven't seen the beavers, but we
have seen the alders.   The kids were fascinated by the chew
marks.    Oh yes, and the way the sun rotates around the
earth.   We've had several long discussions about it being
dark here and light in "China".    So, we have lots of
    subjects we want to hit.

  • I bought Christmas cards.   Now probably their going to end
up being mailed in January knowing my luck.   But anybody
    from xanga want one?

Drop a line, leave me your addy, and I'd be delighted to send you
one.  *grin*   Oh and the cards are quite pretty, and
quite generic so you won't have to display a Christmas card in January,
but just a nice card if thats when I get my act together.
    *giggles*

Bridge didn't happen.   Although the board made a nice big
splash.  *snigger*   We will try again with a different
    something.

Was soooooooooo beautiful today.  Blue sky, crisp and
cold.   We have two bald eagles who spent great amounts of
time on our property.   They like salmon you know, and the
salmon are running.  One just sat in a tree right outside our
house and watched us most of the day.   We walked to the
river two different ways.   The first time we saw a huge run
of salmon so pretty.   The other day I saw a heron flying up
the river just as I came on it.   The variety of the wildlife
is just phenomenal.   Big fat squirrels, blue jays, and so
    on.

I really really have to watch Achi outside.   Cause she looks
like eagle food.     So, she's not allowed outside
unless we're standing right there.    Our kittens also
look like eagle food, but they are on their own.

I've had several major anxiety attacks today.   But in
between things life functioned smoothly.   Its hard to
explain if you've never been in a mode like this.   Some of
it was just from feeling overwhelmed,  some of it is after move
withdrawls I'm sure, and some is very much my over-indulging in sugar
    substances.

I've also dealt with insomnia for the last three days.  Which isn't helping.   But hey, we shall conquer this.

We're not impressed with the garage we tried for our van.
They made an apointment, but apparently had the wrong part, so told us
to come back today.   We did, their mechanic never
showed.  *argle*  So, now our van is making a funny/loudish
noise and we're faced with the choices of going to church.
We really have to get to the schoolhouse, and finish getting the
swing-set, trampoline, etc.    The trampoline is just
going in the dumpster, but we need to do it.    The hot
tub was supposed to be getting moved as well, but unfortunatly my dads
trailer is out of commission (sigh)  so we're gonna have to ask
the buyers if we can have an extension on moving it.  I'm sure
their hoping we just leave it ROFL.   I saw the lady looking
at it longingly.  hehehe    But we want EVERYTHING
else out, and its most logical to do it after church.   So,
we're going to pray the van works, and drive anyhow.  *argle*

I have pictures on my camera, but don't really want to pay to load them over this connection, so I think I'll wait.

And could someone make me sleepy so I can go back to bed PLEASE???

  • Ok so I don't do off very well.  Its my husbands fault.  *honest*

Your not gonna buy that are you?   He told me to get on and buy a computer, now what woman is gonna argue with that??

So I did.  Nice Pentium 4, Dell computer headed my way for
Christmas.   I think this would be because I bought him a
chain saw.  Don't we buy romantic gifts?? *snigger*

Still no DSL, and haven't heard about mil.   Called bil who
lives in the same town and he hadn't either.   We're all
working on the premise no news is good news.

I'm doing much better.   I did my stint for pay day to
grocerys etc, and came back absolutely exhuasted, but feeling better
emotionally.   I also had a nice time chatting with Dee while
spending more money.   Money goes buh-bye.

I'm mostly done Christmas shopping.   I'm slightly confused
about one thing, so have to dig through my closet to figure out what I
did.   Shopping and moving at the same time is not a good
    combination.

    And today...today we're building a bridge.    Yes, i'll
take pictures, provided I could find my camera.
*scratches head*   Its not a fancy bridge, just a way to get
across to the other side of the river.

Officially we're not allowed to, so this is gonna be a wonky temporary
thing that fish & game can't yell about too much.  (we
hope)    Cause as we were reminded many times we own the
land under the river, but we don't own the river.  LOL

I bought paint for my kitchen.  (WOO!)  And hope to do that
Monday night when my family is safely tucked in bed, and DH is at
    work.   We shall see.

One bright red accent wall, the rest red.   And then I'm going to do some stenciling.

And dh is home, so gotta go build a bridge.

  • Good morning.

I'm so off.   I'm turning my computer off and staying off for
the rest of the weekend if it kills me.  It might.  LOL

I'm also getting myself off sugar.   Which also might kill me.

I was high at 3 yesterday, and now I'm extremely extremely low.   Life gets that way LOL
Life will get better, I will be fine.   I keep telling myself this over and over and praying a lot.

Depression/Anxiety sucks.  It just creeps up in the most bizarre ways, and times, and screams here I am to take over.

My mil is going in for back surgery today, something that she chose to
do rather suddenly.   Rob is extremely concerned as he didn't
feel she got good information, and should have thought
harder.   He's in the medical field, so he has the
right.  I actually share the concern.   The surgery in
intensely invasive and has many many ways it could go wrong.

If you could pray that would be superb.

    Thanks,
    Tonia

  • Its a day!  LOL

Survived my first trip back and forth in the dark.   Was
disgusted to learn its only 30 miles to the church, and takes almost 50
minutes to get there.  Its amazing what driving on a crooked
little highway that goes round and circles and up and down will do to
    slow you up.

I have pictures of my living room and dining room.    I
will take pictures of the others when they are a bit more in
order.   The kids rooms are in order, but their bedding is in
the wash, so gotta wait a bit for those.  LOL

The first picture is a "joined" picture of my living room.
I love this space its big, and comfy.    I can't wait to
paint and get rid of the stripes on the walls.    I'm
going to do one color on the bottom of the chair rail you see, and
another on the top.   The picture is a tinge dark but it
    gives you the idea.

The second is my kitchen scuse the boxes, the last load that came in
yesterday is still waiting to be emptied.   I'm taking this
from the corner where our table is.  The kitchen is huge and has
tons of cupboard space.   The first picture is looking into
the kitchen at the dining room table.   There is actually a
small dining room space, but that is where I ended up putting the
computer and the piano.   Okay its not actually that small
LOL if both of those fit in it.   I will take a picture of
that corner when its a bit more dunged out, and when my loading time
    isn't long distance time.

This second picture is a "joined" picture so you can see the full
kitchen the door on the side is looking into the living room.  Its
a lovely space.  LOOOOTS of cupboards.

DSL is still coming.   We called and actually got someone
helpful.   We don't however have  atime for when
someones coming, that's somebody elses department.
We have no choice, but to deal with them, their the
only provider, so we wait.   And pray the helpful person
    actually did his job.

  • woo all moved out except the hot tub.  *major cheers*
Everything came this trip...including the last cat who was playing hard
to get.   I was getting quite concerned about her, but she's
now safely in our closet going through the same stress the others did
    last week.

We have also apparently inherited a big fluffy orange cat.  As big
as Salem Dee's cat.  HUGE.  She finally decided to let my
cats outside (generous of her)  and is quite at home.
Shrieks at the previous homeowner.  Actually need to call them,
and see if they had the same issue with her as we did with our
    momma.

Anyways, the DSL guy still hasn't come.   Guess we'll be
poking and bugging tomorrow if he/she doesn't show.  *growls*

And I'm cooking a real meal for the first time.  We've been doing
instant, restaurant, pizza, etc.  Tonight chicken drummys, and
stir fry.  Smells so good, so looking forward to real food.

  • DSL man has not come yet,  I'm gonna have a meltdown if I don't get a cheaper connection soon.

I'm c/p'ing posts into Word logging off, writing them all sneaking back
on and submitting.  Major pain in the but.  Although it might
help me catch a few of my many many typos.  LOL

DH is in town getting the (hopefully) last load of junk from our
house.   We will get the hot tub this weekend.   We
unfortunately can't clean our yard...as its still under a foot of
snow.  *sigh*   I know theirs little toys, and stuffys
down there.   We have the "favorite" yard toys, bikes, cars
etc.   But we wanted to do one last surf around the
yard.   We may have to apologize profoundly to the buyers and
tell them when the snow melts we'll come back.  LOL

My mom & sisters cleaned for us.  *major cheers*
We are paying my sisters, and my mom volunteered.
Irregardless I'm so greatful we don't have to figure out how to pull
that off, and besides my moms a better housecleaner then me.  ROFL

My master bathroom is completely set up the way I like it.
All boxes/extra's gone.   So is my master bedroom
closet.     I decided I'm just going to work my way
from one corner of the house to the last doing the piece meal stuff
rather then wandering back and forth never getting anything completely
    finished.  LOL

I have two boxes of pictures and a half a box of Christmas stuff
sitting in my bedroom as well as some "extras"  unpacked stuff
sitting on dresser/nightstand that I just couldn't make myself find a
home for last week LOL   So their next.   Although
I won't be doing them tonight as its Awana and I get to do the major
pain in the butt drive for that 45 minutes on nasty curvy roads one
    way.  *EWWWW*

I gave myself one week break and we aren't doing "official" school this
week.   The kids are reading/writing on their own however, so
I don't feel bad about that.    Next Monday we will
    start.

My husbands co-worker called me last night.  She's a sweet lady
that lives about 3 miles away....except she was extremely drunk.
*sigh*   So sad for her.    Very nice, just
very very drunk.    Everything was said slllllllllowly
and twice.    While my kids were squirling around
extremely hyper.   I want to be her friend, we shall see how
much patience I have.  *snigger*   She's currently
calling in sick all week....aka drunk.   She just doesn't
feel like going to work.   Its her habit.  Actually its
also cause their short-staffed and she can't get her vacation days, so
she just takes them.  *snicker*    Rob likes her a
lot, in between drunks, so we shall see.

    Other then that....life moves on.

  •  My tree is decorated, so pretty.   Now if I could
figure out where I set my camera down at....I actually think it might
be at the church, man I hope its ok its my lifeline.

    I have a problem.

A problem ya'll can relate to.

    I can't stay offline.

    CAN'T

DSL must come soon, or I'm gonna be soooooooooooooooooooo broke when the phone bill comes in.

Walk awaaaaay from the computer.    Put that keyboard
down, turn and walk.  slowly, quickly, just walk.

  • I’m alive.

I even have a Christmas tree up, although not fully
    decorated.

All I have left to unpack are two boxes of pictures, and my
books.   The books won’t be unpacked
until we do our addition.   The pictures
I’m not sure if I’m going to do until I do some painting.

There are still little odds and ends that need “official”
homes, but mostly my house is organized.
It so helps to have an organized house before one starts
    packing.

Our DSL isn’t here yet, so I’m having to curtail my online
time as much as I’m capable of.  Snigger

I’m way more excited then I should be that I actually WON a
co-post writing contest at Bardic Web.
I wrote it with Shadow, and it was a lot of fun.  Grin

I love the Christmas lights on my tree reflecting in my
windows.   My kids have found a hill to
play on so they no longer miss the old house.
    (They missed the hill LOL)

And life is moving on.  Haven’t met any neighbors, but their all about a half a mile
away, so that’s not too surprising.
Just finding my way into making this home.   Well actually I did meet a couple at the restaurant on Sunday,
but their not technically neighbors, sure were friendly though, just came on
    over and introduced themselves.   Its
fairly obvious we’re new.  Probably the
only peeps with biracial children in the whole 100-mile radius.  Snigger
