  • no keys, still have a job

    thank god

We still have no keys.  And Rob wasn't called to the captain's office.  There is still a chance he could be.  But for now I think we are safe.  I appreciate everyone's prayers.

Loosing the keys was EXTREMELY serious.  You just don't take anything personal to work.  Ever.  Especially something that could be used as a weapon and or an escape tool.  Keys are both.

People have been walked off the hill for less.   *sigh*

Its going to be intresting getting a locksmith up there...as we could "scoped" out by the guards just by being in the parking lot looking.  As soon as they saw Rob they backed down, but they rather let us know they weren't impressed.  We have a new car and their not used to it.

I guess every job has its drawbacks huh?

  • Update

I'm working on the assumption that no news is good news.

Rob was *supposed* to call me when he found out anything.  But hasn't.

I'm really hoping that the worst that's gonna happen is we have to call a lock smith as we don't have a duplicate set.

    Thanks everyone for praying!

    embrace

  • No Keys

We still don't have the keys, nor do we know where they are at.

The verdict is out on Rob's job.  He will show up to work to find out wether he's walked off the hill or not...

  • Keys

It is *just* now daylight.  We will be heading up to the prison in a little bit to look for the keys.

We're just getting the kids breakfast.  So continued prayers are appreciated.

No I can't look inside the prison--I've actually NEVER been in there, although I could take a tour if I wanted.

I can however look in the van which is *probably* but not for sure where their at.  The ideal would be that is where they are at.  Because if it is he will still have a job.

If it isn't.  We aren't sure what will happen.

  • Major Prayer Request

My husband lost his car keys at the prison.

    He can NOT find them.

There is a good posibility he could be fired if they are in the prison somewhere.

It was dark when he was looking for them (in the van) so we desperately hope they are in there.

He also *cough* panics when he's looking so there's a good possibility I could find them tomorrow.

But in the meantime its going to be a LONG night.

And we can NOT afford to be without work.

Yesterday while I was slipping and sliding down the last hill, the kids were already at the beach.  And when I hit the beach Rainee had already found something on the big rocks in front of us.  It looked a bit like a moving rock.  But with the marvelous skills of my telephoto lens I managed to snag my best picture ever of a seal.  I was THRILLED when I got home and realized how well it had turned out.

    100_2926

I also found my beautiful children just enjoying the view.

    100_2929

After a false start--we headed the wrong direction and found a dead end.  When Samuel declares we can't go any further you KNOW you've reached a dead end.  Samuels gift in the common sense area is a wee bit lacking after all.  ROFL

So we decided we'd give up on the caves and just explore the beach.  It wasn't super long as there were big rocks on either side.  The kids ran the other direction and all of a sudden started screaming and jumping up and down.  They'd found the caves.

    100_2932

Its hard to take pictures of caves.  These are actually quite deep, but you can't see that.  They go back far enough that I couldn't see the kids.  And their were a TON of them.  It was definitely worth the wee bit of slipping and sliding down the very small switch back trail.

This one here was particularly cool, as they went in one side and came out another.

    100_2936

The funny thing is the trail to the beach is about 175 feet straight up.  The caves were under us as we hiked we just didn't know it.

    100_2942

I actually braved this one.  The kids went further back in, but mommy doesn't reallly like caves.  Zeria isn't scared in that picture she twisted her ankle and Samuel kicked it.  It was a injury filled day.  *snicker*

    100_2944

On the way back to our trail head I found this.  He was still alive   And he also took a very nice picture.

The way up the trail had its own miny adventure.  The trail was just WET.  And steep.  The combination wasn't great.  And the one and only place you basically had to scramble.  I started going up, believing I had a firm purchase instead I went DOWN.  It wasn't a long down as I was basically crawling, but it was FAST.  I grabbed Rob's leg trying to get purchase, and then realized I'd take down Jer & him, so I just slid, and eventually stopped.  I'm sure it was all of a four second slide...but it felt like an eternity.  And my left knee and right side are feeling it today.

It was a long fun busy week.  Yesterday we broke in Rainee's new bike and went for a walk/bike ride on a closed logging road that happens to be mostly paved.

WE biked/walked for over a mile one way.  Rainee's training wheels rather dislodged on the way back, and Jer got tired of being pulled on his big wheel so we ended up with a few extra responsibilities.  We took a snack with us, and all in all it was a nice adventure...even if Rob and I were exhausted getting the two littles back to the car.

Our hike was mostly in partially regrown forest, but there were several lovely vista's of the Sekiu river, and we have full intentions of doing it again.

    100_2894

As I mentioned before it was HOT.  When we got home the kids and Rob headed to the river where I eventually joined them after a afternoon nap.

I was SHOCKED to see this when I got there.

    100_2904

    And this.

Last summer he wouldn't go past his ankles.  Apparently mommy is gonna have to get him water wings now.  Cause there is NO fear in him in regards to the water all of a sudden.

    100_2907

Eventually the kids went and drug out my freecycle find that I got last October or so.  We had stored it waiting for good weather.  Its going to provide HOURS of entertainment this summer.

    100_2914

It wasn't nearly as warm today, but still quite sunny.  We did another much smaller bike ride, a extremely treacherous climb down to a new beach, and found some lovely beach caves.  I'll share those tomorrow as I don't have them off my camera.

I'm gonna be paying for that hike and I slid and fell on my derriere twice on the way down.  Twisted my ankle while at the beach.  And fell going uphill.

Yes Karla I your sister FELL going uphill.  Remind you of when I fell up the stairs?  It is possible.  Although I admit I was climbing up, and fell down.  Its all a quandry.  It was a very scarey fall, I was sliding rather wildly, and grabbed Rob's leg, but realized that would pull him and Jeremiah down, so I let go again and stopped shortly thereafter.

Lets just say I'm thinking it'll be a Robaxin night ROFL.  And NEXT time we go there cause it *IS* beautiful.  I'm crawling in that particular spot.  *snicker*

  • beautiful spring day

I made this gorgeous tag tonight.

    dance

Of course I might be prejudice LOL.  If anybody wants it for scrapbooking feel free to "lift" it.

Its been sooooooooooooooooo beautiful today.  First warm day since about September 15th.

I have a sunburn.  And it feels soooooooooo good!

  • a day

I did the insomnia thing last night so I kinda drug around today as a result.

The good news is the sun is out and has been all day.  Its not particularly warm, but at least it wasn't raining!

We drive into P.A yesterday and did a baton practice.  Just some of the moms and some of the kids, no coach.  Her mom died on Monday night.  We will have no baton the month of April...I don't know if it will go longer then that yet.

This evening we drove out and played at our favorite beach.  We hadn't been there in a LONG while as it requires a wade across the creek, and its been way too cold for that.  When we got there...we were tickled to discover God made a bridge out of a large piece of driftwood.  I could even walk across it...all be it really really slowly.  LOL

    Sorry no pictures.

It was just a lovely enjoyable hike in the sand.

I do have this rather surreal picture to share.  Its of our river, but highly improved upon.  Its a fantasy land.

  • I'm alive!

And life just keeps a moving on.

The girls had a fabulous time at my sisters.  Rainee said she would do it again...but it was too long.  She apparently missed us.

Samuel said he forgot what the girls looked like they were gone so long.  (friday-to monday)

Jeremiah said he knew what they looked like.

    "Oh really?"

    "Yeah, their white."

I'm thinking he felt a little bit like the underdog.  or something.  LOL

I've been totally addicted to my lovely psp.  I've found some fantastic tutorials, and a yahoo group dedicated solely to psp.  They put out tutorials and challenges and such.  I can't believe how much I'm learning.  I love stretching my brain!

    kayl

I did this picture of KK this morning.  Otherwise known as Kaylin, but more often referred to as KK around here.  Don't ask me why, it just happened.

I loved the way it turned out.  It is another one that looks like an old fashioned kids story book, or as Louann suggested quilt material.  It would be so much fun to get that printed to material...I'm actually thinking of looking around just out of curiosity to see if that's even possible.

I've also printed out about 15 of my favorite shots on some fantastic quality paper, and will be taking them to our local art gallery to see if she's intrested in showcasing a few.   And asking her for hints.  Her sister told me I should...and they run the shop together.  I headed to do it today, but their still on winter hours, and not opened until tomorrow at 11.
