why do I still have a home?
We had baton today. And after baton we chose to grocery shop in Hoquiam rather then do a 2 hour run tomorrow to P.A. to do it. So we didn't get home until 8:45. We walked in the sunroom and immediately smelled smoke.
I opened the door to the rest of the house and immediately saw that the lizard light had fallen down. Its a very hot heat lamp. The lizard had been living in a HUGE plastic tub. The light had fallen off its nail, into the cage and melted the seed, through the plastic, through the laminated flooring, and into the subfloor. It was hot. But not flaming.
And we still have a house. God is truely good.

His mercy endures forever! glad you returned to a whole house and God spared you!
oh my goodness! I'm glad your house is ok!
Wow!! Praising God for His protection over your home!!!!
Thanking the Lord for his mercy to you and your family.
wow Praise God for his great mercy.
Do you have smoke damage?
And the kids wanted to know if the lizard is still alive.
@Bluetoban - smoke damage as in messed up paint, no...but two days later our house still REAKS. We've had all our windows open, too. We have no carpet, so I guess it just absorbed in the walls. And amazingly enough the lizard crawled to the other side of the cage and survived...another miracle.
wow - this is truly a miracle - God protects His children - PTL!
many years ago, we had a fire in the laundry room that was near our apt - i still remember that awful smoky smell - it tooks a while for it to clear - but i'll put up with smoke anyday over ashes!
Yikes, you and family were so lucky. The good Lord and your guardian angel were looking out for you.
