We participated in our last parade of the season.
It was very warm. And they wanted us there way early for reasons I didn't get as its actually a smallish parade.
Needless to say it was a long day. And the kids were just exhausted by the time we got done.
There torn about parades. They LOVE to be in them, but there always bummed because they don't get to "see" them. This one was harder as its in our old home town of Joyce. And they wanted to see there friends. So we had a teensy melt down at the end because of heat and hunger. After they had water bottles and food they were much better.
Oh and they slept the hour fifteen drive home not at our request. Apparently we wore them out. ROFL
Tomorrow Zeria and Kaylin are headed off to camp. Zeria is a returnee and Kaylin is going for the first time. Samuel has chosen not to go...which is fine with us, as due to some of his umm behavorial issues we weren't totally thrilled about him going anyhow. So it was a mutually good decision.
Rob had a good hike yesterday, and even spotted this little fellow on his 18 mile jaunt.
You have no idea how much I envy him hiking here. I want to be able to do it so badly. My body hates the elevation. And I get instant and extreme asthma. I've made it four miles up there twice in my 20's. The second time I was sooooo sick at the top. Elevation sickness/asthma something. And that was just the stupid beginning of the hike, and I was in decent shape, hiking every weekend. Of course back then I didn't have asthma meds, but now I have more back pain.
The only way I could ever do it would be to train and work out almost daily. I...just don't know if I have that stamina in me to attain this goal.
But I've dreamed of hiking here since I was in the fifth grade.
I guess its time to think.
