  • beginning to look like Thanksgiving

Turkey's out on the counter defrosting.

Green bean salad is made marinating in the fridge.

Eggs are boiling for a second salad.  I'm making progress.

This is a year of firsts.

We will be having Thanksgiving with my dad tomorrow, and my mom and most of my family on Saturday.  My dad didn't get priority on days, it just happens to be Saturday is easier for most of my extended family (Rob included).

Thanksgiving tomorrow will just be my family plus my dad.  Its going to be...awkward, hard, and I've been grieving all week quite frankly.  Its the new version of normal, and the holidays just are a extra reminder of how hard it is.

I want to make cookies tonight, but not sure if I have the molasses, also want to do a blackberry crumble.  That's fast and easy, and I may even have Zeria make it.

Tomorrow its just turkey into the oven, stuffing, and gravy making.  I *might* make a lemon meringue pie as well as I'm rather craving one.  We shall see.  Its optional.  LOL

I'm totally stuffed up with the cold Zeria shared, but not in the totally icky stage any more, so this too shall pass.

Prayer for my sisters still at home tomorrow would be greatly appreciated, its not going to be an easy day for them.  And then Friday its Jeremiah's birthday.   Funny cause the year he was born was two days before Thanksgiving, and this year its after--go figure.

  • praying for a wonderful day

  • Didn't know about your parents... not sure what happened (((so sorry.)))  Prayers for all.  Happy Thanksgiving... there is always much to be thankful for!

  • Wil's birthday is the 27th and sometimes it falls on Thanksgiving.  Tomorrow would have been his dad's birthday and it was also the date of the day Kennedy was shot.  My daughter was 10 mo. old and we had just had her picture taken and heard the news broadcast when we got to the car.

I know the holidays will be hard.  They are for us with daughter allowing her situation to continue as it is.  Oldest g-son and his gal friend will eat with us tomorrow then meet with the rest of his family for the Plaza lighting in the evening.  Too bad daughter continues to cater to the ex instead of letting go and doing what should be done.  I think she is more "married" to him now than when they were married.  Does that make any sense?

Got cold here today with some snow flurries.

  • Happy Thanksgiving. I hope your day leaves you with lots to be thankful for.
