Its been an insanely busy week, mixed with concerns about my extended family, and my dad. Those thoughts I just am not ready to talk about, but here's highlights of our insanely busy week.

Monday was about lollygagging at the river. Does he look content or what?
Tuesday *after* Baton practice it was quite hot. So we headed back to the river even though it was 6 o'clock in the evening.
We went to a "new" spot that the kids had picked out to enjoy.
Wednesday was the dress rehearsal for the baton performance. The little girls routine was pixie dixie, and thus they dressed up as little pixies. These were their costumes. I bought Zeria one two (under $20) so she wouldn't feel left out, and also it will work as their halloween outfits. (multitasking ya know)
Kaylin posing.
Rainee prancing.
Zeria curtseying.
Thursday was the performance. Zeria was invited to hold the banner, as she and another girl were two new to have a routine. They have one coming along quite nicely, but its a very advanced one, and needed more then a month and a bit to do.
Rainee and Kaylin getting ready to start the Fractured Fairy-Tales and Pixie Dixie routine. Kaylin is doing soooooo well. She did every step perfectly. Rainee tried very hard, and is definitely improving.
And fairly hysterical to watch. Even the coach was giggling at the smaller girls.
This is Kaylin mid-routine. I liked that it showed the baton in movement.
Zeria was ornrey on Thursday. Very ornrey. She is having a very hard time dealing with my parents divorce etc. And convinced she will never see her grandpa again. Which is quite a good possibility. So she's grieving, and taking it out on us. It's not been a easy week for both of us.
And the majority of the baton team. There's some to the left of the picture I just couldn't fit in where I was sitting. There's 25 in all. This was the grand finale. Its amazing what some of these girls can do. None of them have worked longer then a year, and they had some just wow stunts!
After the performance was done, I had a knock-down-drag-out with Zeria, and we got the costumes safely back to the van we went to enjoy the fair.
Can we all just say preadolesence has hit with a vengeance???
We timed the viewing of the baby pigs just right in that a lady was in the pen and let everybody pet one of them. Jeremiah was highly fascinated. I was still coming off of the stress of Zeria's tude, so didn't take as many pictures as I normally would in the animal barns.
Eventually we needed an ice cream break (after lunch) and Jeremiah quite thoroughly enjoyed his. *sniggers*
After the ice cream break we braved the rides. We usually go the fair on Friday which is *not* a kids get in free day. Next year, we will return to this policy. Even if it means coming in twice. We will NOT do the rides on a Thursday again. Too many people, too long of lines. I'm not a crowd person, and keeping track of 6 kids...um yeah terrifying!
Jeremiah LOVED this ride, and would NOT look at me, he was too busy driving, and honking.
I have several more pictures of rides, but I'll spare you. *snicker* The big kids ended up being allowed to go off on their own. Which (mostly) worked. They met a friend and the five of them headed off. Rob took Jeremiah to the bitty-kids rides, and I took Rainee to the medium kids rides, and we kept checking to make sure we spotted the others frequently.
Unfortunately once Samuel got seperated from the group--but he found me quickly, and got regrouped with them. And Zeria had to go to the bathroom, and told Jamari he needed to go with her. He wouldn't and ran off. So Zeria frantically ran trying to find him, and Rob found them both, and chewed them both out--when it was just Jamari's fault. And we had another major tiff. *sigh* Apologies were given, and we learned many valuable lessons. Including strengthening our marriage when all was said and done. Because Rob and I finally got to the root of the number one thing we ever disagree about.
But yeah, the fair was stressful. And we will NOT be going on a Thursday again. Just too much stinking work.
My one splurge was a ceramic place where you got to buy a blank-slate piece and then paint it.
They will then put it in the kiln, and mail it to me when its done. They said the colors will change dramatically. I'm looking very much forward to seeing the finished result, and will share.
Anyhow that was our week.
Yesterday was spent in recovering. Oh my legs ached from that many hours on concrete. And today a lady is coming out to camp with her boys. She is a long-time family friend whose been promising to come out. So yeah the fun just keeps going on.
And next week my aunt and uncle and kiddos will be coming out to spend a couple days. This was planned before the disaster in my family. She's coming from Grande Prairie Alberta. Originally she was going to spend all of her time with my mom, but its just too much right now, and my aunt loves the ocean, and rarely gets time with it, so she will do some time at our house, and then go over and spend a couple days with my sis--thus spreading it out, and giving my mom the break she needs.
So yeah...life is just full.
