  • Anybody?

I've actually just joined a site to see if anyone can identify these two berries, but I thought I might ask if anyone here has any idea what these are?

Yeah!  I found it.  After HOURS and HOURS of searching I finally found it.

It is a stink current.  and it *is* edible.   Now to learn a bit more.  And I've been looking for the identity of this since April of LAST year.  LOL

  • Whatever they are I wouldn't eat 'em. LOL

  • Hmmm. A mystery berry. I'll be interested to know when you find out.

  • At work and should be busy but look these up and see if they match you pictures:

Pacific Northwest native plants, Mahonia nervosa (powdery blue on blue-black), Gaultheria shallon (blue-black), ), Ribes sanguineum (powdery pale blue on blue-black).

  • Must be a nw coastal thingy.

  • Nope its not any of them.  The leaves are those big ones in the picture--rather like maple leafs.  I asked both my mom and dad and they've never seen them.  LOL  And since my dad has lived and worked in the woods of the Peninsula all of his life that's saying something.    Darn it there's a ton of them along the river, and I'd sure love to know what they are!

  • Stink currant? Doesn't sound very tasty... hehehe

  • We have so many wild berries here and I learn more about each every year. Thanks for the information on these.
