  • a little glimpse of summer

We have had sunshine the last couple days, and it has been sooooo nice!   The kids of course assume this to mean its summer.  Wetsuits and boogie boards and their good to go.   I got up to my knees today and said BRRRRRRR!!!   The rest of them swam off and on for over an hour.  Crazy kids!!

Its days like this that remind me however why I love this property, and help me rapidly forget the 145 inches of rain a year.  If only I had my dh with me it would be perfect.  But instead he's doing doubles to get us out of a rather deep hole we dug ourselves in.  We have NO money in our account until next Friday.   We also have dipped into our overdraft protection a lot.  We are desperately praying that we don't bounce.  I have a tank full of gas, but I'm absolutely staying home, except for a planned trip on Saturday.  If an emergency came up I literally couldn't afford to drive.  And we don't have a credit card to fall back on.

Anyhow onto other things. Its been so nice to wander down to the river soak up the rays, and watch the kids play.  I love summer, even if this technically isn't it yet.

    jeremiah

Jeremiah isn't much into actually getting wet, but he LOVES sand.  And we have a lovely dirty sandy bank for the kids to play in.

Jamari has actually been swimming this summer.  He is a bit of a wimp, and doesn't like cold water, but since I got the wet suit he's swimming a lot.  So go figure the picture i have of him is cuddling up on the shore.  *snicker*

These two goonies were best buddies today.  They vary ya know.  Best buddies, and best enemies.  Its enough to make one go nuts.    Anyhow they were climbing up on this log and jumping into the water over and over.  Don't worry its not dangerous.  The water is about 3 feet deep there if that.

And then when they got cold they climbed into there "hot tub".  A little tiny mud hole seperated from the river that they inform me is warm.

Yeah, okay I have a bridge to sell them too.....
