  • Potty Training

After six children this is the first one I've potty-trained with bribery.  With the exception of Samuel all of my kids trained pretty quickly.  Jeremiah ranks up there with Kaylin in speed.  He's stayed dry for the last two days.

The wisdom of training him two weeks before we go on vacation is a bit questionable--but he asked for it so *shrugs*

He did poop in his night time pull-up.  But that's kind of a normal thing for all the kids.

With every one of my kids the first time they pooped in the toilet it was the last time they did it in their pants.  They just needed to figure out HOW.  Jeremiah HATES his diaper being cleaned, so this is added incentive.  We just need him to do it when he's awake.

Anyhow we have absolutely NO pull-ups in the house, so that's a even better reason to potty-train.  ROFL.

And its working.  Although I'm gonna have to go get more m&m's tomorrow.

And that's cause I can't keep out of them.

I do have to say however taking him 3x in 15 minutes is a wee bit annoying.  (pun intended).   But he YIKES candy.  And each time he squeezes out some dribbles so ARGLE  I have to reward him.  *sniggers*

Zeria is sick today.  Tummy ache, and head ache.  She hasn't moved off the recliner chair all day.  Its been coming since Sunday so isn't terribly shocking.  She's just laying in her blanky cuddling her sad rabbit.

I had my own headache this morning, and made a mistake of taking tylenol allergy.  4 hours later I woke up.  Its a very good thing Rob was home.  I attempted to do school while drugged.  It was amusing.  I kept falling asleep while waiting for Samuel to figure out what the next word read.

I cancelled math and crawled into bed.  Two and a half hours later I woke just in time to take Rob to work.  He was  slightly worried.  The headache however did go away, so its all good.

  • I noticed your breastfeeding ticker.  How many years total have you been breastfeeding?

  • ryc: You bet your booties I'm laughing.  So... can you beat my mil's record of a 6 year old?

  • when we potty trained our babies, we got to the point where they were okay during the day but then they would wet the bed at nite - so we put kept in pullups but started putting underpants on over the pullups - then we told them if they could have a clean, dry pullup for 5 days, then they could sleep in the big boy (or big girl) underpants - we even got the ones with the cartoon characters - it worked much easier with our son - he has always been one to be independent - but our daughter did not get out of pullups until she was in kindergarden - oh well, at least it was worth a try!

sorry you have a(nother) sick kidlet - hope you stay well!

  • ryc:  That's cool that your mom has come around in her opinion.

When it comes to "no milk" it definately helps that I am as stubborn as an ox on certain things.  : )

  • goood luck with potty training
