It's gonna be one of THOSE nights.
I was standing at the stove chopping up pork for the pork fried rice. And managed to burn the rice.
So I ditched that pan. Rice is cheap I get it in 25 pound bags for $8.
And refilled a different pan. (The first pan is VERY VERY burnt)
And stood watching the second pan very carefully.
Cause ya know its got to "just" boil and then you turn it down to simmer.
Well I stood there
and stood there.
Only to realize I hadn't turned the burner on.
Dinner's gonna be a bit late tonight.

sorry
i've had days like that too - just remember to look back and laugh, not cry!
Hence why I love Minute rice. ROFL! Let it bubble briefly, turn things off.
I was also going to say, "A watched pot never boils..." but I guess it really never will if the burner's off. ROFL! *hugs*
Snickering....hehehhe
Ohhhh, I feel for you. I hate those days! And I'm very thankful to Chris for my "rice cooker".
ryc: lol, oh yeah very true. Moms don't have time to get sick though I occassionally just give in and hide under the covers for 10 hours (and get a nasty heat rash because of it- remember that at college?)
snicker...mmmummble...snicker....AH HAHAHAHA...yeah I have done that too. sorry it's just so funny when it happens to someone eles. keep smiling and remember to roll your eyes and chuck the pan across the room
