Ahh the marvelous joys of romance.
Rob just walked up to me patted me twice gently with his knuckles and walked away.
It was his beautiful and touching way of saying good night.
Ain't that sweet.
Romance
is
Dead
Sniggers!
It was a wonderful day.
The sun was out which in and of itself is a minor miracle. *giggles*
This morning I played 3 rounds of Rummy-o with Kaylin and Zeria. We got it for Christmas from my mom and dad. The girls caught on very fast and it was a lot of fun. Samuel came and wanted to play half-way round three, but we needed to make lunch, so maybe I'll teach it to him another day.
After lunch, and the great llama escapade we headed out and got a campfire going. I had tried last week, and got greedy with the wet wood, and basically just made smoke. But this time I used one of our regular fire pits, lots of kindling, and lots of our dry firewood. When it was nice and blazing I was able to get a bunch of the branches from the tree that came down closest to our house. We have SOOOOOOOO much burning ahead of us.
Its a good thing I LOVE it. ![]()
If its nice tomorrow I would be ecstatic to get the tree in my front yard all cleaned up. I'm not sure its doable in one day, but oh man it would be nice.
Anyhow it was fun to be in the fresh air. Zeria caught Cricket and we took the reins off the bridle, and just attatched them to the halter. Cricket HATES the bit. She actually did pretty well that way. Zeria was able to give all the little kids nice long rides. Samuel tried to ride that way, but wasn't as stubborn as Zeria and gave up. Cricket will get stubborn and just refuse to move. Zeria is more stubborn. *snigger* And alder switches are good on pony backsides too. ![]()
After words we came inside and had a loverly dinner of parmesean noodles and hamburger. (my own made-up recipe that we love). If any ones intrested I can write it out, otherwise suffice it to say it was quite nummy.
The fire was still going, and I kept looking out the window at it even though it was dark. And finally couldn't take it any longer. "All right, back outside let's go enjoy it." And we did.
The kids were a hoot. The five big ones loved how the fire was really sparky. (like lots of sparklers). So then they began running these big circles around it. (far away enough for their to be no danger of falling in). As they ran they chanted like Natives. Fireworshipers or something. Rob and I just enjoyed there pleasure.
We didn't stay out long cause its still cold out there. We all curled up in front of tv and watched Justice League. My kids have recently discovered this show, and Rob and I enjoy it as much as they do. So its a 6 pm date every night. LOL
It wasn't anything spectacular this day. But it was so nice. ![]()
Okay so yesterday the guy that's been wanting the last llama showed up. He and Rob spent 3 plus hours chasing it. At one point the llama was so determined to NOT be caught he went for a 25 foot swim in the river. It was then that Rob and the man admitted defeat. The llama got out on the otherside of the river and went for a jaunt.
We couldn't get near it, so decided to let it come home on its own, and pray that it wouldn't get hit (liability for us). This morning it started down the driveway, but saw Rainee and Jamari who said "HI llama." and wigged. AGAIN
A few minutes later somebody stopped by to tell us it was at the H---'s. They gave this message to Jamari. *Growl* Leaving messages with five year olds, not exactly clear. AFter several minutes of trying to figure out what Jamari was repeating I figured it out. I woke Rob up, and we attempted the great llama chase AGAIN.
I left Kaylin and Zeria at the gate to our driveway. I told them if I honked the horn to open the gate and hide. This would give the llama and "escape" place...right into where it belonged.
Rob got grain, and the rest of the kids buckled up into the van. I drove down the highway to where sure enough the llama was at the H's. Rob jumped out with his bucket of grain while I drove ahead a half mile to turn around. I drive a 15 passenger van...it requires turn around space. *snicker* By the time we got back Rob had the llama chasing the grain bucket (cautiously) and at least headed in the right direction. I crossed the road to the wrong side of the road in the van. (its a nice long straight strech). This was an attempt to coral the llama into continuing to go in the right direction. As he was contemplating turning around cause that grain wasn't as tempting as he suspected. He saw the van, but figured, oh its not moving fast I'll go around it. *growl*
I jumped out of the van and waved my arms and yelled at the wretched thing. He decided Rob's direction and the grain looked safer. (mission semi-accomplished). I jumped back in the van and hurried the llama up. It began trotting fast. Every time it slowed down I revved the engine and or honked the horn. This gave it no time to think.
Rob ran with the grain towards the gate.
We got close. I honked the horn in the prearranged signal. Zeria opened the gate. Her and Kaylin hid behind a rock. I slowed down the van. The llama saw the escape. And whoo he's back in his pen.
We all jumped up and down cheering. *snicker*
But we all know whose smarter.
The llama. Who can swim.
sees if xanga will let me hit submit a second time.
I've tried to blog off and on all yesterday evening and today. I kept getting an error when I tried to submit. Anyhow the above picture is the river yesterday afternoon. The trees in the water are "ours" they are on the property that's on the opposite side of our house. The river for a brief time came on our side of the bank...but not close to the house at all. There was a super duper high tide, plus we got FIVE inches of rain yesterday. When the tide went out, so did the river.
We are greatful.
Again.
I took the kids to Awana tonight, they were very glad for it to be going again.
I'm tired.
G'nite ![]()
weeeeeeeee hold on tight you might blow away if you read this blog.
Today is brought to you by 83 mph gusts, a inch of rain an hour, and the river moving rapidly closer to my house.
Same old Same old ya know.
*snort*
So far the river is still within its banks...but just stinkin barely.
There's standing water EVERYWHERE. Much worse then yesterday.
But yeah we still have power!!
Rob talked about running to Neah Bay today for something. We won't be. We'd like to stay alive. *snicker*
Though we might run to Sekiu (5 minutes from here) to see the waves. They should be impressive.
Oter then that batten the hatches, man the gunnerys. and HOLD on tight!
The windy blowing in of 2007. It somehow doesn't suprise me considering how windy November and December were.
The last time I look the biggest gust was 67 m/p/h weeeee hold on tight.
We have reached maximum saturation point, and we no longer have puddles. All of outside is just one big puddle. Two inches of standing water. No time for it to sink, no place for it to sink.
I think this didn't happen until February last year, but *shrugs* oh well.
Rob had to work today--no vacation days for prison workers. So blah! blaise, and bluck.
And Happy New Year ![]()
