  • Cool I just managed to win Jamari's birthday pressie on ebay.

    aa_1

His birthday is in January, and I'm usually so tired of shopping I have mind-blank.  The other night I was surfing ebay for stocking stuffers and found the above picture.  I knew a little boy who would absolutely love it.  Some of them are plastic, some are metal.  They are mostly from the Britains Deetail collection, and this is being shipped from the UK.  I got it all for under $20 (shipping included).  Pats self on back.

Of course the trick will be remembering where I put it when January comes.....

Jamari btw LOVES horses.  He is the kiddo that's gonna marry a woman who has horses.  And he can spot toy horses in a store better then most kids can spot candy.  So he will be thrilled.

He'll also be rather excited with the Britain Deetail horses with knights on them that I also got off ebay.   I know how much they are new, and I managed to get all of them for under $10 shipping included.  *beams*

The other kiddos Christmas' are also taken care of.   Stocking stuffers included, except of the package of Walmart kids make-up I'll pick up for the girls.  They always have this HUGE box for under $10 which I break open and divide between there three stockings.  Its wonderful make-up, as its shiny, and gloss, not the nasty Barbie make-up.   Oh and some kid color finger-polish no gadawful dark blue etc.

Rob's Christmas pressy is half taken care of, I know what other thing he's getting, I just haven't picked it up yet.

The calendars for Christmas are in my closet (my traditional grandparent pressie--they rely on them now *snicker*), so in regards to extended Christmas is just the names each of us drew out of the hat.  MUCH closer to Christmas the kiddos will get to go to town and buy those themselves.  Like a week before?  They don't need visions of Christmas dancing in there head quite yet.   *snicker*

  • Why is it that little boys have to try everything at least 3x and get hurt each time before they grasp.  Yes, if I do that I will get hurt????

And we wonder why we call full grown men thick.

Its from all the bumps they got as babies determining that Yes, if I do that it will hurt.

  • Jeremiah has helped the kids invent a new game.  Its fairly funny.  He reinvented tag.   The big kids get in a train line biggest to smallest and then run circles in the house.  Jeremiah chases them giggling and say "This fun."

Its a loud game, to be tolerated only for so long before we loose our hearing.  But too entirely cute.

Its cold and clear outside.  Which is a nice break from the rain.  I dreamed last night that the water was at our doorstep, I was glad to see it wasn't reality.

I did a marathon shopping day yesterday and went to Costco for the first time in months.  It was a loooooooong day, but we once again have food to feed the family.  Jamari was my shopping buddy, and seemed to enjoy himself.

Rainee is counting seconds until she gets to be my shopping buddy.

  • I shouldn't be amused, but Jeremiah has been busy and filled his pants.  He keeps walking over to the kids and shaking it in there face to hear them say EWWWW.

    He is such a goof.

And yes I'm about to change it.   *snicker*

  • Good morning

Well at least I know now why I've been so nasty the last couple days.  Turns up nose at the horrid aunt flo who chose to visit.   Ahh well, at least I can start feeling civil again.

Awana was fun last night.  I managed to do two scrapbook pages.  And Jeremiah had a buddy to play with.  A little boy who was born 2 months after him came, and they played ball in the gym most of the evening.

The sun is actually trying to come out today.  Its brrr cold, but at least its not raining.

My mom's 60th birthday is next week, and so I spent some time scrambling making calls for how/what we're going to do.  Its been my job to celebrate my mom's birthday since I was 10.  Its just not something my dad does well.  Although that being said...he always gives generously to whatever cause I plan.

And other then that just veging.

  • Good afternoon,

I did a job for myself this morning.  Rob, the kids and I cleaned out the garage.  We moved the lawn mowers to the hay shed, and threw away a bunch more of the previous owners CRAP.  Mostly old paint and stuff.   A bit of reorganization, and wala I have  a place to kick the kids out to when its raining cats, dogs, and elephants.

Last year it was sorta a okay place for them to play, but not great.  now its fairly roomy, plus they have the attic in the garage.  All in all they have a nice place to run-around in, or skate it etc.

They can get fresh air, but not drown, and my ears can get a much needed break.  *snicker*

Right now my ears are thanking me.

Other then that its Awana tonight, and I'm going to run to my moms to pick up the paperwork for the red van.  We've never transferred the stupid thing over into our name, and we need to as the tabs ran out two months ago.  Its the rainy season and Rob needs it to drive to work, its no longer feasible for him to bike...he comes back looking like he showered with all of his clothes on.

The above picture is the river and ocean this summer.  The below picture was taken yesterday as the river broke out to the ocean.  That in between land is ALL gone at the moment as you can see.

We moved our picnic table up to safety when we realized the rain was coming down, and it was going to flood.  Rob carried it up the 6 foot enbankment knowing it would be safe....

Doesn't it look well protected?   In case you miss it its that green thing just to the left of the middle, that's about a foot tall in the water.......

    100_0282

You see those 2 beams with the short 2x4's sticking out of them?    They are heavy.  They are about 20 feet long.  Rob moved them from our old porch by dragging them with the van.  He left them beside where we want to build the kids a treehouse.   They were almost 100 feet from the river bank in our yard.  The river carried them over 125 feet and slammed them into what was once our horse fence.  It rather needs repairing now.

And what's truely amazing all of that water is back in the river where it belongs now.

  • I keep forgetting to mention Zeria's arm.  Rob was right.  She had merca.  It actually has long name, but I think you need a medical degree to be able to pronounce it nevermind say it.  *snort*

Anyhow what it boils down to is a staff infection in the skin  that is resistant to antiobiotics.  Our whole family has been exposed to it compliments of it being rampant in the prison where Rob works.

There are only two options to treat it, and the sooner you catch it the better.  It is a NASTY thing.   The pharmacist where I picked up the antibiotics was shocked that they hadn't given Zeria the shot for it, as he saw it and thought it was bad.  You know somethings icky when one medical professional is willing to criticize another one.    But that being said its looking way better this morning with only two doses of the antibiotic in her system, so hopefully we caught it in time.

  • You have 30 minutes to leave your house not knowing if you'll ever return to it.

What do you take with you.  You can only take what will fit in the current vehicle you drive.

Either blog about it, or leave a answer in your comments.

For me yesterday we had an hour.

And we brought clothes for all of us,  and grabbed all the photo albums.  They are *mostly* all in one place.  AFter yesterday they are again, and will stay that way.  Rob grabbed a Bible, I grabbed some reading material for all of us--a grocery bag half full of random stuff.

We also grabbed the three medicine baskets, and a laundry basket full of canned food.   That was it.  We rather forgot a hair brush.  *shrugs*  It didn't seem important somehow.  But we of course had wallets/purses/camera's.  Oh yes, and the computer--and backed up CD's.

What would you grab?  And why.

  • Good morning

I have woke this morning believing in miracles.

When I think through the timing of yesterday I'm sure of it.

30 minutes AFTER I called prayer chains, and put news up on xanga the river blew out.

Coincidence?  I just don't think so.  I believe God.

The water has completely left our yard, and the llama field.  It is still flooded, but flooded in its "normal" places, not its record flooding places.

I am just so greatful to God.  The rain all but stopped yesterday--contrary to what the forecast said.  God had his hand in it.

I'm also impressed by God's power.  We had two fire pits the big truck wheels moved 75 feet by the river.   River that was in our yard a long ways from where it actually should have been.    That could have been our house, but God answered.

So I believe in miracles.  And thank all who prayed.
