The above picture is the river and ocean this summer. The below picture was taken yesterday as the river broke out to the ocean. That in between land is ALL gone at the moment as you can see.
We moved our picnic table up to safety when we realized the rain was coming down, and it was going to flood. Rob carried it up the 6 foot enbankment knowing it would be safe....
Doesn't it look well protected? In case you miss it its that green thing just to the left of the middle, that's about a foot tall in the water.......
You see those 2 beams with the short 2x4's sticking out of them? They are heavy. They are about 20 feet long. Rob moved them from our old porch by dragging them with the van. He left them beside where we want to build the kids a treehouse. They were almost 100 feet from the river bank in our yard. The river carried them over 125 feet and slammed them into what was once our horse fence. It rather needs repairing now.

And what's truely amazing all of that water is back in the river where it belongs now.
