Anybody know how hard it is to take pictures in a down pour????? *snicker*  Anyhow.  There's the trailer in about 6 inches of water.  The water in that picture joined hands with the closer puddle before it began to recede.  We had our neighbor pull the trailer out of there, as the man who owned it was several hours away.

If you enlarge this second picture you can see the 3 kinds of river coming up towards the house.  The pictures don't do it justice.  There was a 7 foot wide, 3 inch deep river on all sides of the house, and it rising rapidly.  The little brown spot under the window would be Cricket the pony, desperately trying to find a dry place to stand.

The picture by the van, that looks in this picture like a big puddle.  But in actuality its the river.  A very small part of it.  It got bigger.  In front of the red van if the pictures weren't so dark is another piece of river.  And over to the right where the picture isn't...is more river.   We live in a elbow of the river, and it was coming at us from 3 sides.  Lovely huh?

The thing is the rain is still coming down hard.  Our only salvation was the tide going out, and the river blowing back out into the ocean.  The tide will come again.

That's behind our house.  That's all normally field.  And once again the pictures are crappy.  If you enlarge them you can see red arrows pointing out pieces of river flowing.  This part wasn't concerning us in regards to the house.  It was just the fact that the field where our animals were was waist deep.....and rising.  We know cause Rob was in it leading the cow out.

Okies.  Zeria has some bizarre skin infection rising in her arm.  Its hot, and yicky.  I guess I'm going to attempt to drive to the ER about 35 minutes away and get it taken care of.  Its hot to the touch, and the red keeps going up her arm.  My nurse husband has officially declared it an emergency.

The expression it never rains but it pours seems appropriate here.

  • Wow! That is crazy.  Reminds me of when the Red River flooded in '97 and was miles and miles across.

  • WOOOOOW! That is a lot of water...a lot.

I hope it slows down and I also hope miss Z's arm is ok. Drive careful!

The 1st thing I noticed in the pic was the pony! Go figure.

Is that neighbors just across the way with the well or is that your property too?

    Keep us posted!!!
