Month: October 2006

  • We have a bitch in the house.

    Quite literally.

    Achi is in heat.

    She woke me up at 5:15 shrieking.  She apparently doesn't approve.

    Every once and awhile she lets out this pitiful shriek.

    Its gonna be a LONG week.

    My headache is temporarily abated.  I'm hoping this is a sign of good things to come.

    We are heading into town to pick up some heating pipe.  Its a project we've put off for over a month.  We only have heat in half of our house, thanks to the cats ripping out the other half.

    I'd like to be warm this winter.

    I'm also hoping to pick up some crochet wire, and make some jewlery.  This is something I didn't know existed until last night.  But it fascinates me, and I LOVE crocheting.  So I'm excited.

  • Awana went well, I'm tired.

    Samuel melted down towards the end.  He crashed and burned during game time.  Crashed and burned on Zeria I might add.  He survived that, but didn't survive the fact his sisters team won, and she got candy and he didn't.

    My sympathy was NON-EXISTENT.

    He claimed headache as well.  I gave him some childrens motrin when we got home and sent him to bed.  Tomorrow when we're not all tired we're gonna have another discussion about being good loosers.

    There is no official Cubbies this year, but there is a high-schooler willing to work with Rainee on her book.  Rainee had a blast with her, with the exception that Lydia had to go help push another leaders car out of the ditch.  *snicker*  Rainee got very very sad when Lydia left and she couldn't find mommy.  (Lydia left her with the Sparkies.)   So, another leader found me, and she was fine.  Lydia came back, and Rainee promptly ditched me.  Lydia will plan accordingly now, and have a on on one game time with Rainee etc.   So that made Rainee very happy.  We thought she wasn't going to get anything, but she did, and is ecstatic.

    Jamari made me laugh for a good five minutes on the way home.

    We got on the discussion of marrying and dating.   We get in weird convo's in the van.  Anyhow it got very serious about how you "pick" a good man/woman.  And I was thinking oh wow I'm really imparting great wisdom to my children.

    Jamari then announced.  "When I get married, I'm gonna pick a woman who has horses."

    So much for my wisdom.

  • Mud pie

    Mud Pie;

    1 package oreo cookies

    1 container Hershey chocolate

    1 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream.

    1 cube butter

    Smash oreo cookies into small pieces.  Hold back 1/2 to 1 cup oreos

    Place the rest in a 9x13 cake pan.

    Melt butter.

    Add butter into oreo cookie pieces and squish into bottom of the pan.

    Microwave ice cream for one minute or until soft, but not melted.

    Place ice cream in cake dish and spread over the oreo's with rubber scraper

    Dump chocolate sauce on top of ice cream spreading like icing.

    Sprinkle remaining oreo cookies on top.

    Place in freezer until set.    It took 2 hours here, but would have been better at 3-4.

    MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    And Rob's birthday pressy is all set-up.  It went up without much of a hitch, and its soooooooooo beautiful.   I'm very glad I got the new bedspread for my birthday.  *beams*

    Its hard to take a picture of it due to the size of my bedroom, so here's two angles.  It actually fits in my bedroom quite nicely which made me happy.

    As a extra I also splurged on the bedskirt ruffle--due to the fact that our old one was DEAD.  *snicker*  So now I have this purdy, purdy room.  *beams*

    I have material for curtains for those windows, just haven't taken the time to make them, so should do that.  And we have the flooring for our bedroom, which Rob will be working at putting in all the rooms over the course of the winter.     All in all though it looks awesome.

  • Day three of the sinus headache.

    *argle*

    Anyhow on that note, we have not been doing our organized part of school.  And the kids were missing out on where the Droon book was going.  They informed me they were quite mad that we weren't doing school.

    "So, go read it yourself."  I growled.

    "We can?"

    "Yes,"

    So there over there reading it out loud together.

    Just beams.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Rainee btw is writing.   She LOVES to write.  She loves to write names.  Today she had me write out everybody's names and copy it.  I love unschooling.
    The interview with the Attorney general's office went fine.  They said theirs a 98% chance the judge will dismiss the case.
    Rob is breathing now.
    The bed came.
    In 5 big boxes.
    Guess what we'll be doing tomorrow?  *snicker*
    I still have the sinus headache.   It can leave at any moment.
  • Good morning
    Its my husbands birthday today.
    And his present?
    He gets to do a deposition with someone from the attorney general's office.
    He's being sued by a inmate.
    Why?  Well the inmate is suing anyone in the DOC that looked at him.  (literally)  He's soooooooooooooooooooo grumpy and nervous.   *sigh*
    We will celebrate tomorrow when its not hanging over his head.  And when he's home for a evening meal.  He leaves at 11:30 on Tuesday's and doesn't get home until 10 pm.   So tomorrow.
    His main birthday gift the bed is coming today too.   It's not gonna make set-up.  But hey, it's still cool.
  • I will not be writing on the boards tonight.
    I have had a sinus headache most of the day.
    And I"m grumpy.
    The combination, will leave me over here in the corner quiet.
  • This morning is brought to you by someone who truely understands parents;
    Baby_Blues
  • Do not be afraid to;
    Joshua; the Lord your God goes with you, he will never leave you or forsake you
    People of Israel; for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you
    Joshua; I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land
    Joshua; I have given them into your hand, not one of them will be able to withstand you
    Joshua; I will have all of them over to Israel, slain.
    Gideon; You are not going to die
    Israel; for the Lord will not reject you.
    Elijah; the angel of the Lord is with you, and will defeat your enemies
    King Hezikiah; I am going to scare your enemies
    Israel; it will go well with you
    Israel; you will have success, if you follow the laws and decrees
    David to Solomon; the Lord will not forsake you
    Jahaziel to Jehosaphat and his people; the battle is not yours, but God’s
    Israel; the Lord will be with you
    Israel; there is a greater power with us then with them
