Month: September 2006

  • Good morning

Its a day.  My ear is some better.  Of course I'm also taking ibuprofen, so that's not the true judge.   I still can't hear out of it at all, which is extremely disorienting.  But its the weekend.  And I don't have to take care of my kids if I don't want to.  Throws confetti around.  I can go lock myself in the bedroom and sleep if it gets too bad.

    This is good.

Yesterday I think there were a couple hours nobody was watching the kids.  Fortunately their all still alive and my house is standing.  I just wish I could recall who was in charge then....

Oh wait it was the tv.

I deal with pain fairly frequently.  Its the nature of my life.  But yesterday oh man was awful.

Rob with the help of a neighbor got both of the french doors into the sunroom yesterday.  I think todays plan is the outside siding.  Its beginning to look like a room.  *beams*

I have purchased most of my kids Christmas gifts.  I just have to win a couple items on ebay, and get Jer's stuff.  I have no clue what to get for the two year old.  LOL   I know what he's getting for his 2 year birthday in November, just can't get inspired for actual Christmas.  Ahh well its early.  And most of you are probably wanting to hit me for saying that I've gotten it done already.  *smirk*

  • You know its *never* good when the doctor is impressed with an infection.  *snort*  My ear canal is swollen shut.  So I have anti inflammatory/antibiotic drops, and I'm on antibiotics to clear up the infection.  He was concerned the drops wouldn't get where they need to thanks to the whole being swollen thing.  Hopefully by Saturday I will start feeling more normal.

  • I'd just like to say OUCH!!!!

I haven't had an earache like this since the second Christmas I came home from college.

The good news is its swimmers ear, not the way back in the ear.

    The bad news is

    OUCH!

I have a doctors apointment at 11:30 to get it flushed.  I've only had my ear flushed one other time, back when I was preggers with Kaylin.  And that time the plug didn't hurt, just was plugged.  It hurts so bad.

    I'm just barely holding on.

This is my new bedspread with a cute little blonde model demonstrating its comfortableness.  I love the colors, and okay I just love it.  Its so my bedroom.  I got it at Brylane's online.   Okay Rob got it, but I found it   He did a good job.

And this is Zeria getting baptized in the river.  My camera's batterys were dying, and the picture isn't as good as I wanted, but unfortunately its all I've got.

    100_3016

I have one ear completely plugged and hurting.  I sat in the van and just cried.  I've put swimmers ear gunk in it twice so now its not hurting just plugged. I hate only being able to hear out of half my head.

My mil called she made it home safe, and apparently our answering machine isn't working.  We had a good laugh and visit.  We always do better on the phone then in person.  Which is ironic considering I typically hate being on the phone.

I crawled into bed for an hour nursing my ear while the kids watched Richie Rich.

My house now looks like it.  They are cleaning up there volcano blast area.

  • Good morning

Its a NEW day.  Thank you God.

On that note.  My first task of this day is to go remove my sons toys.  I wanted my eyes open first though ya know?

My kids are running around the house screaming.  Its something about horses and lava.

My husbands observation was he rather hoped the lava would get them, cause it hurt.  The noise from the screaming that is, not the lava.  *snicker*

Zeria landed wonky on the trampeline and is babying her back today.  She's generally a big wuss, so I'm not as concerned as I should be.

The visit with my brother went as well as could be expected.  He's not doing as poorly as my little brother, but he's also not living a life that one could actually celebrate either.  I'm tired, and Rob is working his third overtime today.  I suspect there will be extra tv today.

  • Good morning

It was a fun and wonderful day yesterday.

The potluck was a great success, and as an extra bonus we had a baptism in our river.

And as a extra birthday present Zeria decided she wanted to be baptized.  Its something she's been discussing with us off and on for a year.  So that was very cool.  I have pictures, but my batterys are charging, so I'll share later.  Our conditions over the last year for this was she had to do the asking to the head elder.   She did.  And she told me her reason for wanting it was she wanted to show that Jesus was Lord of all of her life.   She said this without prompting.  *beams*

My brother who is my kids brother is in town for the first time in a year.  As a result we will be heading out in a bit to see him.  I will not be back until very very late tonight.  Alas this means NO I'm not getting caught up on the r/p boards.  But unfortunately for those twisting in the wind real life takes precedence.

I bought as a splurge on ebay the Roswell series.  I thoroughly enjoyed the ones I caught on the sci-fi channel, and so purchased it as a guilty pleasure.  Rob assured me I was insane, and he was NOT watching it.

He's totally hooked.  So we have something fun to do in the rare evenings he's home for quite a long while.    Life is good.

  • I'm older today.

    Thirty-five to be precise.

My husband is spoiling me quite nicely.  He bought me a lovely quilt with lighthouses on it, and a beautiful skirt I shall wear to church this morning.  I rather kindly pointed them out to him in a magazine a month ago, and told him GET ME THAT.  *snicker*

Actually the skirt was a suprise, the bedspread not so much.  But its BEAUTIFUL.  And I didn't need it, I wanted it.  There was absolutely NO justification for it whatsoever.  I bought a new bedspread for myself in February.  And when it got home off of e-bay instead of being red it was maroon.   Its comfy, its just NOT the color I wanted.  So now I have what I wanted.  *grin*

I also got a nice little collection of scrapbooking stuff from my mil.  And a indoor outdoor throw rug for our new room.  Its not the color I would have picked, but I'm sure it will be absused quite nicely in my mud room.  *snicker*

And last but not least.  My dear online friend Dee gave me a mug from Bardic Web the writing site we frequent.  Okay the writing site She's responsible for getting me addicted to.  LOL   And also for which she's desperately hoping I get back to as I've kept her waiting often this summer.  *blushes*  Summer is ending, so hopefully I can get back into a more normal routine.   I reserved my delivered gifts for today just to make it more special.

And this afternoon we have a potluck.  Its ironic cause we announced the date a month ago.  But I had NO clue it was my birthday.  I just said the second Sunday in September will be our church potluck.  And then last week realized that the second Sunday was the tenth.  Its rather nice to have a already planned party with no obligations from anyone to bring me anything.

We are having fun with my little sister here.  Well Zeria's big sister my .little one.  I love saying that and getting the looks of true confusion.  *eg*  I really gave Rob a hard time too at lunch time when he ask that "Tonia's mom have a safe drive here."  "She's J'dai's mom too."  I pointed out rather blandly at which point he blushed.  *eg*

Anyhow last night we took her for a good old fashioned explore down Charlie Creek.  We have done this twice now, and its a great adventure.  It was a bit darkish under the trees, so the pictures are kinda icky.  But I still had to share.

The kids found this beach ball floating in the water.  I'm assuming our neighbours had been playinng down there.  Our neighbours through the woods that is.    They waded through the water and rescued it.

    100_2990

Jdai was a teensy bit wimpy the first part of the adventure.  She was trying to act like the swauve sophisticated snorky teenage sisters she has.  But then she re-remembered how to be a kid and had a blast.  And went swimming with her coat on.  As her big sister I'm very proud of her.  I want tomboys for sisters not wussy make-up wearing fashion plates.  *snicker*  I've done my best to corrupt each of my adopted siblings.

The bunch of them in the fallen alder leaves.  It was very pretty behind them, but the camera deemed it too dark.  Darn it all.

    100_2994

Just my set of munchies.  I have a fall picture of my family from every year.  Its my favorite picture too each year.  No dress clothes, just mis-matched, playing hard with the fall colors.

    100_3000

And Jamari wading down the very low crick.

    I love family adventures.

  • Oh my word.  I am so frustrated.

We PAID a delivery and carry-off fee to Angeles Appliance.

    Guess what?

They "didn't" have room to put the old stove in.

They "might" come back sometime early next week and pick it up.

So for everyone who reads my blog from the Olympic Peninsula.

Do NOT buy from AA Appliance.  They are crappy business people, and will not honor any deal you make with them.

All of our church is coming over for lunch on Sunday, and there gonna get to admire the beautiful stove sitting out in our front yard.

    Update;

Rob called the shop and told the owner that we were having a party on Sunday, and we were going to tell everyone at it NOT to do business with AA.  My husband NEVER and I do  mean NEVER gets mad.  But he was today.  LOL   They came and picked it up.  Buh-bye bad stove
