Good morning
Yes, last nights sleep was much better.
Its intresting about perspective. After Rob and I were done cuddling we were getting ready for bed and mentioning the irritations of the night before. And then I observed. "Actually last night was unusual and not the norm. But if this had been two years ago, that would have been a good night. Our minds both fled back to when Rainee's apnea monitor and the pulse ox went off over and over and over many, many times a night. It wasn't a good memory, but it was nice to know its in the past. We have come along ways after all.
With that segue way we are expecting a phone call from Childrens to arrange Rainee's sleep study test. Its something we should have done several years ago, but I was in denial. I don't know what to expect from the results of it, but I feel like it will wrap up the last questions in my head about her health.
They actually called on Friday, and Rob answered the phone, and rather then scheduling he asked them to call back when I could, cause his wife knew the schedule better. This is sweet and all, except. HE"S the one who works. And I have NO schedule. Plus, it will take them two weeks for us to get back to the front of the que. Throws rotten tomatoes at my husband for his "helpfulness."
Other then that school went well. Reading is doing excellent, math went about how I expected it. I've thrown out my math curriculum. I will continue to check Scope & Sequences frequently to know where we should be, but I prefer making my own curriculum which meets my kiddos where their at. My kids need to do something over and over and over and over before they MIGHT get it. All the new math curriculums having them do it 6 times and then bouncing to a new skill. Its not enough.
Case in point would be place value. We're learning that 25 actually means 2 tens and 5 ones. Its extremely important as you need it for carrying, and borrowing. Its also something I never grasped that woulda made math make much more sense. It was about then in my Math career I would start saying. "Why do I do it this way?" And my teachers would say. "You just do it you don't need to know why." At the ripe old age of second grade I determed Math was stupid and cease to loose interest. Doing something that made no sense, and had no reason for it was stupid. Period.
I've as an adult discovered that Math is the ultimate sense. It has rules that one can follow and as long as you do they won't be broken. Its actually kinda comforting in our messed up life to have something that makes sense. ROFL. Anyhow I don't want my children to be as math challenged as I was, so we will continue to fight on.

I hope God pencils you further up their list and get's you back in a little faster --- maybe for your hubbys sweeet gesture He will speed it up a little for you and the wait won't be so long
I have one that struggles in math and the other reading. What are you using to help you help them? Tips?

We use popsicle sticks to teach about place value and when we've got ten we bundle them with an elastic band. Yesterday we played a game where they rolled a dice, got that many sticks and wrote down the number. They all had a turn, then rolled again and if they could make a ten, they'd bundle it... and write down what number they had now. We kept going until someone got 100. 
I have seen the same thing with math programs I use. They don't spend enough time on most things to ensure that your child has it! Maybe you could write one for all of us homeschooling moms??
:) One of us homeschooling moms should. We know better what we need.
