Month: June 2006

  • Rob is in the process of moving everything out of our bedroom to remove the carpet.  *ayee*  I so hope this helps the asthma crud..  I will pick up some paint for it on the weekend I guess.   in again out again with the furniture.  LOL

The previous owner left a ton of scrap lumber, and I've basically declared it will become a book shelf...this weekend.  LOL  Okay he agreed, but I didn't give him much flex room.  *blushes*   We have 3 odd shaped too small bookshelfs in our room, and it makes the space extremely cluttered.  All of our books would fit on one big one and gives us some free breathing space.

Currently all our books are in the master bathtub.  It was a good landing place.  Its rarely used, and *shrugs*  it was empty.  The kiddos did it for me.  LOL

We have a lot of books.  And I got rid of so many when we moved.  *shrugs*  Oh well.  I never get rid of friend books.  I just get rid of the self-helps that seemed good at the time, and were dribble.  And the books I picked up at the grocery store that looked like they'd be a good read and failed utterly.  LOL

I might have a master bedroom that feels like a retreat when I'm done.  I've missed that a lot.

  • okies help me out I heard a song on the radio today, I've heard it before...but I can't find it.

    Its country.

The words about a good man   and reading the words in red.

Isn't that a lot of help?

    Thanks Dee I found it.

Old man Wrigley lived in that white house
Down the street where i grew up
Momma used to send me over with things
    We struck a freindship up
I spent a few long summers out on his old porch swing

Says he was in the war when in the navy
Lost his wife, lost his baby
Broke down and asked him one time
How ya keep from going crazy
He said I'll see my wife and son in just a little while
I asked him what he meant
He looked at me and smiled, said

    (Chorus)
I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see
    Oh i believe

Few years later i was off at college
Talkin' to mom on the phone one night
Getting all caught up on the gossip
The ins and outs of the small town life
She said oh by the way son, old man Wrigley's died.

Later on that night, i laid there thinkin' back
Thought 'bout a couple long-lost summers
I didn't know whether to cry or laugh
If there was ever anybody desevred a ticket to the other side
It'd be that sweet old man who looked me in the eye, said

    (Chorus)
I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see

    I can't quote the book
    The chapter or the verse
You can't tell me it all ends
In a slow ride in a hearse
You know I'm more and more convinced
    The longer that i live
    Yeah, this can't be
    No, this can't be
No, this can't be all there is

    (Chorus)
When I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see
    I believe
    Oh, I
    I believe
    I believe
    I believe
    I believe
    I believe

  • sits.

Its all done except for the trim.  I used a sponge to get the corners due to the no paint brush.

I need it to dry before I can do the trim.

    I'm TIRED.

  • Color humor

Okies so I wanted this really subtle light blue color--almost white.  I'm going to do the window sills in a light mint green.  I have painted 3 walls and a bit.  I'd almost be done but Jer woke up, and needs a snuggle.

The irony?  Its subtle all right.  In fact...so far it just looks white.  *snicker*  I sure hope it drys a wee bit darker.  If it doesn't...I'm not sure if I want to try another color or just live with the nice clean walls.  I guess I'll decide when I'm not exhausted from painting.

Its going on well, and I don't think I'll need a third coat, though may need to a do a touch up here or there.  My paint brush is rather toasted.   And I don't think the local store has paint brushes, so I might have to wait for Friday to do the tiny corner touch-ups.

Yes, I'll take pictures...when I'm done, and when the furniture is back up against the walls instead of in the middle of the room.  LOL

Its sunny today.  It didn't get that way until almost noon, but it doesn't matter its sunny.  *throws confetti*  And I boogie boarded in the river.  BRRRRR  And no you don't get pictures of that.  *snigger*  I wasn't wearing a swimming suit just shorts and a decent bra.  *snicker*  Its the joys of owning your own private water.   I had no intentions of going in the water when I headed down with the kids.  But I was hot from painting, and got hotter watching them.

Anyhow I laid out in the grass with my book for almost an hour...so lovely.  Of course it wasn't commpletely peaceful as the kids were running around, but oh man I'm  needing sun.

This picture would be Jer creeping up on someone.  He was being very sneaky.  ROFL

Samuel testing his balance.  He's about five feet off the ground.  And nope he didn't fall.

Jamari and Jerbud getting Jer's "baaaa".  Jer loves balls, and has mastered the art of saying said word.  He of course hasn't mastered his aim, so we all spent a lot of time rescuing said ball.  *snicker*

Rainee and Kaylin posing for the camera.  But aren't they cute?  Or am I prejudice?

Kaylin and Achi loving each other.  Achi has become mine and her dog.  LOL  Achi loves me, and Kaylin is very patient about taking care of the things that need to be done...like Achi accidents   And yes...Achi is just tolerating the love, she gets a bit over loved most of the time.  *snicker*

And ya know this one just amuses me...because its a very honest picture of my precious Zeria daughter.

    bwzeria

Zeria was told by a 17 year old last summer that she has the scowl of a teenager down.  Whatdaya think?

  • woooo

Four beautiful white walls, adios dusty rose & blue flowers with discolored spots here and there.

    *cheers*

Okies so its just the primer LOL, but I can't believe how much nicer my master bedroom looks.

Next step is to make a trip for color...

I'm hoping to sneak out tomorrow and get some.  Its only $20 for paint, I think we can swing that.

  • Waves cheerfully goodbye to the dusty rose and blue flowers in my masterbedroom.  One wall is gone forever.  Nice bright white primer.  *beams*  Three walls to go, but after a bit...I'm tired.  LOL  I also need my paint tray, and its in the room Jer is sleeping.

  • I've got sand in my toes, and saltwater in my nose, and I feel ever so much more alive now.  LOL

The fresh air and beach cleared up a little bit of my mental fog.  *cheers*   Does anybody make Arroz Con Pollo?  I'm looking for a tried & true recipe.

A note on pictures.  I don't consider myself an expert, but the one trick I've learned above all else when taking them is GET closer.

I didn't come up with it originally it was at the County Fair a few years back.

They had a top ten list as to how to take better pictures it read like this.

    1.  Get Closer

    2.   Get Closer

    3.  Get Closer

    4.  Get Closer

    5.  Get Closer

    6.  Get Closer

    7.  Get Closer

    8.  Get Closer

    9.  Get Closer

    10.  Get Closer.

I think they may have had a point they wanted to get across.  *snicker*

I don't use a fancy schmancy camera, just my trusty little Kodak Ezshare.  I don't like fancy camera's their not fun for my favorite kind of photo--impromptu candids.   Just had to share.

  • It was so nasty rainy icky yesterday.  Just depressing.

How pathetic is it that my mood depends so much on sunshine.  Actually all of our moods depend on UV rays, and we just haven't had much sun this year.  My brother is starting to threaten to move to Spokane...Rob was threatening half-heartedly to move to Yakima.   I just unpacked, I ain't movin.  LOL   I told him I wouldn't quite say never...but purdy darn close.  He absolutely loves where Karla (my sis) just moved to.  But he grew up in the high desert, and gets lonesome for sagebrush of all things.

Rainee is sick, very sick.   Her endoscopy is scheduled for the 16th which is only ten days away.  I'm starting to get nervous that we'll have to cancel if she can't shake this nasty cold.  Prayers are appreciated.

I am a bit heart-sick about the fact that we're doing so much Childrens this year.  Its just...wearying.  And I'm not mentally prepared to present my knowledgable parenting, well educated, calm self.   I need prayer.  Mostly I just want to hide my overly poked daughter in a nice deserted island, and let her enjoy life.
