  • This weeks photo blog topic is guilty pleasure.  My guilty pleasure is the gas we spend on leisure.  If money disappears in anyone place its there.  And driving a 15 passenger van its a luxury, but oh...I love the ability to just leave whenever and explore the world around us.  To show my children how truely delightful nature is.

I would live without ice cream, chocolate, and my precious Mt Dew just to get in the car and drive.   Its such fun to explore.  I constantly meet people who live around me who have never driven the 15 miles to see some world-class view and I'm just amazed that they can be content to sit.   I have to drive, to see, to investigate.   To love the land my God created.  I may have over-shared pictures today--but well I feel passionate about it.

Embrace life just like my daughter does in this picture--and don't live with coulda-shoulda-wouldas.

  • as far as i'm concerned, you can never over-share your pics of the beautiful scenes around you - or your beautiful kiddos either! you are right - some people will never make any extra effort to get up and see what's around them - each part of the country has its own beauty.

i read some of the great pony chase - lol - we've never chase horses or ponies - just cats and dogs around the yard and down the street - we've even chased the kids when they were little!

  • keep em coming.  lovely

  • If I lived where you are, I wouldnt' HAVE to drive much more than 15 miles--I'd be quite happy right where I was.

  • Beautiful pics – don't apologise for overdoing it, I can never see enough of this world.
RYC; yes it's big but they get a lot bigger. Imagine seeing them nowadays huge nautiluses some more than three feet across!

  • Great post and the photos are fantastic!

  • Gorgeous pics! You have made me want to visit the west coast so much! Someday I will. And I can't wait to explore our area a little better, but it will have to wait for the temps to fall a bit. *sweating*

I would be so scared about those rascally young'uns. I'm glad they're okay, but I would have been right there with you, screaming and hugging. OY.

  • Beautiful pictures! Lovely thoughts, and yes, I agree, the luxury of hopping in the van any time and going for a drive is something to be thankful for! It's become family time for us all to load up and go for a drive. . . . .
Just wanted to say hi, my husband and I have 5 children--the oldest is 9.
