  • Good morning

Went for a lovely drive last night-found the sun.  It was about 2,000 feet up.  LOL.  We drove up the West Twin Rd, and came down Snyder Road.  We played in a couple water falls, and stopped and admired the view of the strait while the kids climbed the rocks.  The waterfalls were a blast.  These are just small falls alongside the road, not the tourist kind, but pretty nontheless.

Zeria was feeling particularly photogenic and "model" minded.  She kept getting in front of the camera somehow tonight.   *snicker*

All in all it was a beautiful drive, and I much appreciated the sun.

On another rather cool note had a God-moment happen yesterday.  When we were in the process of moving out here we only "knew" one family that lived out here.  They are a family with 10 kiddos.  They used to homeschool, but don't any longer.  We actually swapped ideas about starting a church, when we really felt there wasn't one out here, but then we found the COC, and dropped that.  They don't go to COC they drive 45 minutes one way to another church.  A long crooked drive, not freeway driving.  LOL.

I've mentioned us really liking the COC church, and she'd nod her head and agree she really loved the famillys who went there, but they were still talking about starting a church or something like that.   It was a conversation we had whenever we'd meat, but didn't go on for too long.

Last Sunday I met her on my way to church, and she mentioned they were once again missing church due to conflicts of where they needed to be.  She'd told me in the past they miss 3 out of 4 Sundays due to the drive just being too complicated.

I heard myself asking.  "If you don't mind myself asking do you have something against the Church of Christ?  Doctrinally, or otherwise?"  She smiled and said "No, we just really like our Baptist church."  I nodded and said, "I guess we were just determined to worship in our community, I grew up that it was important to go to church where you lived, not drive out of a community to go.  It was a "cardinal" rule with my parents."  We talked about a couple other things and then said goodby.

I felt like I'd been a bit pushy about it, and a bit guilty afterwards.  I did some praying, and thinking about it, but felt like God gave me peace.  I did decide however I probably wouldn't mention "our" church to her anymore.

It fled my mind completely and life moved on.

Yeserday morning Rob headed to Sunday School with the kids, and came back to get me for church since we're currently down to one vehicle.  He got a big grin on his face when he walked in the door.  "Evie and a bunch of her kids came to church."

God answered.  *beams*  I have no idea if they'll keep coming, but apparently for once my mouth served for good instead of ill.
