  • Good morning

Woke up to a skiff of snow on the ground--just looks rather like a heavy frost.

The kids are doing considerably better this morning.  Coughing, and snotty noses, but they don't look like their going to die anymore.  LOL

Rainee came into my room at 4:30 in the morning to inform me.  "Mommy, my voice hurts."

I asked her to repeat it to make sure I'd hurt right.  "Mommy, my voice hurts."

Even at 4:30 in the morning this amused me.  And the obvious.  "Why are you trying to use your voice at 4:30 in the morning ran through my head."   Reasoning with a almost 4 year old is never a good thing, so I just said.  "Crawl in bed with me."  And grabbed another hour and a bit.  LOL

    She's funny.  *snicker*

Jeremiah's happy he has painkillers for his ears.  Of course he thinks we're torturing him when we put them in, but after that he's haaaaaaaappy.  I suspect he's had the earache for a couple days, as he finally has energy again.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go to Silverdale overnight, and the three older kids are supposed to compete in Sparksarama.  I very much hope there healthy enough for that.  They are going to be superbly bummed if there not.  So, far it looks like they will be---as there already driving us bonkers with their energy, and its only 7:23 am.  *growl*

I think I need to invest in earplugs.  LOL

  • Its been a long day.

I'm sick, have been all week, but it got worse today.  All the kids are sick except Kaylin.

Jamari's fever was at 103.8 at one point--terrifying.  We got him in a bath, and more ibuprofen in him, and it started going down quickly, so we didn't haul him in.

At the same time that drama was going on Jer started screaming.  He's had the cold the longest, and should be getting better not worse.

Anyhow we called the local clinic and they snuck him in.  Yup, double ear infections.

They are all asleep--thank you God for Cough and Cold.  And I will be joining them as soon as American Idol is over.

  • Good morning

I'm groggy this morning, and uninspired.  LOL  School went without a hitch.  And  the rest of a day with housebound children is staring at me.

I think I want to crawl back in bed now.  *snicker*

I opened the boards, have stuff I need to write, but need to wake my brain up first.

And this blog is about as awake as my brain at the moment.  LOL

We did go for a beautiful drive along the beach, the waves were spectacular.

Kaylin is standing beside me reading a book outloud.  *beams*  She is doing very well.  She just doesn't deal with criticism well when school comes, so I have to coach things very carefully.  She still writes over half of her s backwards, and melts-down when I point it out.  But considering she's reading better then Samuel who is 22 months older then her--tis okay.  LOL

Zeria is finally reading well, and now its just a matter of challenging her to read harder books, and bigger books.  We're not at chapter books yet, but I know they are around the next corner.

Samuel in all honesty is the one whose struggling, and mostly I think its just cause it hasn't sparked his intrest.  There are ever so much better things to do then sit still long enough to write sentences and read.

For several giggles. And yes, he touched the camera again. Thus where it stops. *snicker*

  • Good morning

Its kinda drippy outside, but not grose overwhelming rain.  I did my stencils on my kitchen last night and they turned out pretty good.  I'm not a expert by any chance, but I still think there purdy.

Rob and Rainee just had a goofy conversation.  "Your dress and necklace match."  "How do they do that?"  "I don't know they just do."

Yeah, dads and daughters are funny.  LOL

Oh wait spoke too soon, now its just raining hard.  Ahh well, it had to come sometime.  And we had a lovely weekend.  Even if I did spend 2.5 hours last night scrubbing the floor.  Note to self if one buys a drop cloth to protect the floor...one actually has to LAY it down.  *snicker*

Anyhow the first picture is the stencils from back a bit, with the redwall in the background.  Its really hard to get pictures of this room cause its so big and awkward.  LOL  And that house basket on the floor lives in the living room, its just hanging there until the flooring is down in the living room again.

I like the little splash of color the stencils gives without being anything overwhelming.

And this is the stencil close up.  I still need to learn some shading technicques, but hey it was fun, and its cute.     And since I was told by my mom repeatedly I didn't couldn't do art.  PBBT.  I did it even if its not perfect.  LOL    I th ink I might mess with the red on the roof a bit more today, but we shall see.

Anyhow it was fun, and got done quite quickly.  I can't wait until my curtain material gets here, and then the kitchen will be all finished.  And be "mine"  Instead of some strangers.  LOL

And the cost of this project in total will be lets see $30 for paint, $14 for the stencils and $20 for curtains.  Not bad if I say so myself.  So there to the expensive $40,000 kitchen make-over programs.  LOL

Come on in and enjoy the campfire. S'mores will be served shortly.

  • Good morning

It was a extremely relaxing lazy day yesterday.  We went for a long drive to Lake Ozette, and threw rocks in the lake, and enjoyed the view.  It was frickin' cold there, though so we quickly came home.  It was much warmer at home, and we had a lovely, lazy, long day by the river.

Rob rolled one of our multiple fire pits (compliments of the property being a campground) down to the river, and we lit a fire, and just enjoyed ourselves

Rob even got time to try the gift my mil got him for Christmas--the gift that indicates I'm sure she hates me.  I told her so...at which point she laughed rather manically.  Its a bag pipe reed, and oh man its just awful.  But we had fun giggling over it.  And the kids just were fascinated by it.  Even if it did sound like a big dead goat

The major loonies were sure it was warm, and as a result waded in the river.  It wasn't.  And when the sun when behind the clouds on a permanent basis they were quite greatful for our beautiful warm campfire.  They are just major goons.   But, at least somebody has finally made it to the other side of the river bank.  So, I suppose this is a good thing.  (somehow)  Its a wander they don't all have pnuemonia this morning LOL

Our old church finally has a pastoral canidate.   They will be visiting this morning.  I feel suddenly bereft like I'm missing something important.  It was my church for 20 plus years.  Rob asked if I needed to go, but in my head I know, that its very much time to move on.  So, I'll satisfy with calling my sister and picking the pieces from her brain as to how it went.  LOL

On paper they look good, but anyone can make paper spin well.  LOL, So, we shall see.

And me, I just have this quiet little wish in my head for our new church.  I just wish I didn't have to work quite so hard to feel like I belong, and that I felt a little less like a stranger, which I know comes with time.  So, I shall just enjoy, and quit longing for more.

    Have a good day.

    And the Rainee Grace girl

  • Well Kaylin and Zeria played hair-dresser.  *sigh*  It could be worse, but man she has short bangs.  And her hair was almost down to her waist, and now is just below her shoulders.  Beats head on desk.   Thanks Zeria...I love ya.
