Month: February 2006

  • We went to the new church and quite enjoyed ourselves.  We had thrown around waiting to do SS till next week, but Zeria was quite miffed about that, so we went, and enjoyed ourselves.

    The kids had a lot of fun, and quickly began mingling with the church kiddos.   Zeria made 2 friends, one whom she played in basketball with, and wonder of wonders Kaylin made a friend.  Kaylin is extremely shy, and she hit it off with this little girl.  And was the last one to find when it was time to leave.  Her mommy is thrilled.  Kaylin's friends name is Kaitlin.   And man thats gonna get confusing.  LOL

    The sermon was spot on, and the atmosphere of family just superb.   The man who leads the music had to finish whispering with his daughter twice, before he could begin the next song.  *snicker*

    So, I relax just a bit more, and think we may have found a place to worship.

  • And the power has stayed on, and the wind seems to have died down.

    My sister loaned us this movie.  And Rob and I just finished watching it.  So, cute, and hysterical,and just wrong.  *giggles*

  • Its the simple things in life that are good.

    Like power, running water.

    We had a major wind storm--still kinda playing with it right now, and our power has been out since 2 am.   It was a long slow, quiet day.  LOL

    Filled with creative ways to cook, etc.

    I'm really hoping its back on for good, but I'm not willing to blow the candles out quite yet.

  • And the final scanned copy of Catherine.

    Isn't she pretty?

    The "real" copy is coming in the mail.

    I love the fact you can even see her dragon scales on her wrists.  So much fun.

  • This  in my opinion is a must see.   I haven't seen it, but I will, and I will be allowing my children to see it, unless it gets very very bad.

    I have researched the story.  It happened in 2002.  NOT 1952.

    Segregated proms.  And a high school girl fought to seperate it.  And in 2003?  They went back to segregated proms.

    UGH

    So, Kaylin and Samuel couldn't be at the same place.  I think I'm glad I live here.  Oh in 2004 the school district finally "established" policy to change it, and now all of their schools have  "mixed" proms.  Nice.

    God, please don't call me to the south with my family.  :P

  • My mother's "simple" cure for the dull-droms/depression whatever was to get up and do something.

    This is such easy advice to give.

    Except when you've been dealing with extreme back pain for 2 weeks.  And for the first day I don't have any...which should make me ecstatic.

    Except.  I look around at all the projects I want to tackle, and know I need to let it heal before I do.

    So, I sit and stare.  I've opened multiple computer boards and closed them back again.

    I got about 4.5 hours of sleep last night, so that might be part of the reason.

    I don't know.  I think winter has finally gotten to me, or the move, or my fight with my hubby on Monday, or....the move, and well there's lots of things that coulda got to me, but regardless, I desperately need to find something to do, that I "can" do before I go stark raving mad.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    I could use just a bit of prayer this morning.

  • So, the drive home.

    Its raining.  The road is on a fault line, and keeps trying to slide away.  There's cones in at least three places.  The road slides completely away about once every three years has as long as I can remember.

    We came around a corner and the road crew had lights blinking, and I just knew the road had slid away.  "Better start praying guys"  I said quietly and came to a stop.

    Fortunately the road was still sorta open, and they let me go past.

    The kids of course were intrigued.  "Mom, what would we have done if the road had slid out?"

    "Oh, we probably would have gone and spent the night at auntie Karla's."  I answered.

    "But where would we sleep?"

    "Oh probably the floor, her couch is too small for me."  I answered.

    Kaylin asks.  "But why can't you sleep with auntie Karla?"

    At this point Zeria begins to snicker.

    "Umm, cause uncle Tony sleeps with her."  I said trying to maintain a straight face.

    Kaylin gets quiet for a minute thinking this through.  "Oh, eww, two womans and one man in a bed EWWWW."

    And the whole car busts up giggling.  I love my kids.  *snicker*

  • snicker

    Rob just came over and said.  "Good morning, what can we do for you to make this a wonderful day."  Or some such rot.

    I told him.  "Take me to Hawaii."

    He's not buying it.   Well he said he would, but he mentioned that nasty M word.  LOL

    Okies, today has to be a better day.

    At least I woke up none-grumpy this is a major improvement.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Yesterday the front page of the paper showed a lake cabin sliding down the hill due to mud slides.     I blinked at it for a minute, and realized it was my PARENTS.    They built it when I was in high school.   When logging went downhill they were forced to sale it, it was a hard hard thing for my dad as he loved that place, but unfortunately eating and paying bills was more of a priority.
    The cabin is no longer.  Its quite quite off its foundation now.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    We had thunder, lightening, rain, and wind last night.  It was quite the way to bring in February.  Just nasty.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And this is a wandering blog with no point huh?   So, possibly I should go find a life, except, I have too much of one, and am trying to hide for it.  *giggles*
  • A rough copy of my comissioned picture.  The better version is coming.
