  • I full recognize that this is cute...but oh my word.  I stopped bidding on it five days ago when it hit $26.  IT sold for $114.00.  Apparently someone wanted it very very badly.  Shakes head in total confusion.

And money.  We have some *grin*  Our bank account is nice and full thanks to that whole IRS refund.  And now we get to spend it snickers.   We owe some money to the 'ils for helping us with our down.  Hopefully Rob will get that zinging on its way today.  And I shall go order our flooring.  I got the samples on Monday, and am absolutely convinced after looking at them in real life, this is what we will be getting.  So was everybody else that looked at them, the others were just kinda flat and ugly.

After we get it, then we shall have to move all of our furniture out and begin a MAJOR project.  Not so much looking forward to that LOL, but oh man I can't wait to have nice looking floors.  The old house was a 100 year old unfinished hardwood, and always looked dreadful.  We needed to do a major sanding and refinishing and never got it done.  This house has 10 year old beige carpet.  New is gonna be a major novelty.   New, that my kids shouldn't be able to trash.  ROFL

We have all the windows/doors for our mud room.  We just need to order the little bits of wood we need for framing, and we have that project too.  So, we shall be busy.  LOL

  • Its a day for "scares" in regards to technology.  Rob and I were watching tv at 3:45 this afternoon and we heard a LOUD POP and the power went out.

We were 98% sure we lost it.  But the power is *just* back on at 7:10, and all of our electronic equipment is working.  *cheers*

And I think I'm gonna get a surge protector on the tv after that...LOL  Have 2 on the computer--just a bit protective of my life line.  *Snicker*

  • My very new computer got a virus.  *Shrieks*  I should know better then to try to get one of those "free" screensavers.  Every single solitary time I've tried its done something bizarre to the puter.  *sigh*

AVG caught it very quickly...but unfortunately not quickly enough to stop it from attacking my network interface card.  *sigh*

After 30 minutes with my internet provider, and 30 plus minutes with Dell, we thought we were going to have to do a factory default reboot.   *growls*

So, he gave me 30 minutes to get my images and stuff I wanted saved off.  I burned those, and then went back and retried what the internet provider had had me do *after* Dell had reminded me to try system restore.

    It worked.  *cheers*

And I'm so glad, I absolutely didn't want to reload everything.   But, talk about scarey.  What would I do without my computer??? LOL

  • Good morning

Frost all over the grass again today.  And smoke all through my house.  Rob burnt the french toast.  LOL

We went for a delightful drive yesterday back up to the hill I showed the foggy picture of.  It was sooooo gorgeous.  Three way view of the Peninsula.  In one direction you could see the strait, and Vancouver Island.   In the other direction you could see the Pacific Ocean on the Horizon, and in the Third Direction you could see the Olympics clearly, especially Mount Olympus.  Only 30 minutes from our house, just absolutely gorgeous.  And FRICKIN" cold *Snicker*

I of course took about 25 pictures, but I'm gonna pick out four or five that show some of it.  The first is the exact same picture I took three days earlier, only no fog in the background this time.  LOL   The snow caps in the far distance are Vancouver Island.  Click on the bigger pictures so you can see better.

The blue in the horizon of this picture is the Pacific Ocean.  We live in the smallest part of the triangle of the Olympic Peninsula.  So, thats why the so substantial views.   Wait wrong picture, that's just purdy.  *grin*

Another just beautiful view.  These are views the tourists never get to see.  This is a Forest SErvice road, well maintained, but gravel.   And man worth every minute of the 30 minute drive from our house.

The next picture if of Lake Pleasant, Forks, and the Pacific Ocean.  If you squint.    It was of course much clearer to the naked eye.

A picture looking toward the Olympics.   This was my favorite view actually, although the pictures are disappointing.  My mountain shots always fade into the blue sky.  I think I need a truely expensive camera to do them justice, but I shall settle for my Kodak Easy Share.  LOL

I don't want to bore you with too much loading time, so I'll end there.  *grin*  But what a fun drive.   The pole in that picture is part of the major radio equipment thats on the hill.   I took a shot of that as well, but didn't want to bore you.  *giggles*

And yes a lot of that land you see in the pictures has been clear-cut.   As a loggers daughter I will fully admit my dad did a bunch of it.  But you know what that's the *second* time most of it has been harvested, and everything you see is replanted.  I know, we saw all the baby trees as we drove through it to get up there.

As a bonus on the way down the hill way across a valley we got to watch a logging tower work.  My kids were fascinated, and we'll chalk that up to a very good field trip.  *grin*

  • Just a few more gray hairs.

Jer is going to specialize in toasting angels.  I *know* this.

This afternoon I left him happily playing on the deck while I walked less then fifty feet away to go to the garage.  Usually he bumbles down the stairs and follows me.  I grabbed the chicken and was heading back when all of a sudden I hear him screaming.

Zeria was closer (about 20 feet)  and screamed herself.  I assumed he had fallen off the stairs (again)  He will eventually figure out he needs to go down stomache first.  There's only three of them, so I haven't been too worried.

He hadn't.  He'd gotten down the stairs quite nicely, and gone to play in the fish pond.  It is about half empty, and currently sitting above ground, as we haven't planted it in the dirt since we moved.

Anyhow, he wanted a stick or something that was in it, and leaned over too far and fell in head first.  Its two-and-a-half feet deep normally.

He went in HEAD first.  I said that right.  But fortunately he didn't completely panic, and managed to get his head back above water.

I was the one who panicked when I realized what had happened.  And the fish pond has been completely emptied and is in storage.  It will remain there until further notice.  Its not getting planted in the dirt.  Not until next summer, or the summer after.

Man, so very very very close.  When would I have noticed if he hadn't screamed???  God is entirely too good to me.

And...ya know I think he's gonna break more angels in then Samuel did.  And Samuel was AWFUL.   And I am no longer leaving him out of my sight EVER.  LOL

Not until he's like 35.  *snicker*

I'm making a joke, cause I'm sick to my stomache.  I can't believe how close we came to loosing him today.

  • Good morning

Its colder then snake snot outside.  My husbands extremely crude expression.

But gorgeous.  I hope to get out into it later today.  Yesterday was just overwhelmingly long.  By the time Rob got home from work at 10 in the evening I ached everywhere and just thought crying was a viable option for coping with life.   Instead I took a robaxin, and went off to la-la land.

Today I need to do school, and then I shall stare.  I bought 6 rose bushes that need to be planted, but they may wait until tomorrow, we shall see.   This house has loving landscaping, but only two rose bushes, and that is just not enough.  LOL

I spent hours drooling over the heirloom rose link Zvanzivou put up, but then went to Walmart and bought my $3 specials.  *snicker*  Oh a couple $5 specials as well.  It was just a lot of money to spend, that need to go to other things at the moment.  But sure was fun to look at....

I have done entirely too much e-baying recently.  And will now stay away for awhile.  *Snicker*  But the girls all have easter dresses for reasonable prices, Jamari and Rob have extremely reasonable tennis shoes coming (new), and Zeria and Kaylin have jeans on the way.   So, its all good, it wasn't unnecessary purchases.  But nevertheless the budget is feeling it, and I shall quit opening that link.  *giggles*

It still boggles my mind some of the prices some people paid for stuff.  Two pairs of jeans, that were cute yes, but size 10 girls USED.  And the lady paid $46 for them.   Just blibbles at it for awhile.

I have several random pictures.  First another one of my yard from a bit better angle.  I just can't wait until the grass is nice and green its gonna look so pretty.  It already does LOL

We went for a drive Sunday to the top of the highest local mountain.  Unfortunately just as we got to the top we drove into the fog.  We must go back up there as we could tell how good the view "will" be.  LOL  I snagged this there, however, and love the rugged, mystery of it.  Click to make it bigger to catch the detail.

Rob snagged this while I was gone the other day.  And oh man it just makes me snicker.  Do you see a innocent bone in his body anywhere?  Cause man I sure don't.   And no he's not supposed to be sitting there, OR eating that.  ROFL

Yesterday I drove over 112, and was just muttering about the road.  Part of the road was built on a fault.  And every year it tries to slide push into itself.   The washington state government every year spends thousands of dollars trying to fix it.  About ten years back they closed the road for almost three months, and poured over a million dollars into it, only to have it slide out before grand opening.  The irony in this?  A half a mile away is a logging road that has existed for a 100 years without ever doing anything.  It connects up to the road in question and would make a superb cut-off.  But, never ask the government to think out of the box.

I mentioned that WAshington state is now considered the most liberal state of the union haven't I?  And I sooooo don't vote that way.  LOL   and a bit of hummming.    Several colorful logging expressions are flowing through my mind.   The almost pg13 one would be they have their heads up a donkey's a**

*cough*  Anyhow, each day I drive it I half expect to find I get to do 101 and add 20 minutes to the drive.   Except that has already had a major slide on it this year too.   Its so much fun.

And on that note, its time for school to start.  Have a good day.

  • Look what I got!  Points up.  I'll be back in a week when I'm done watching.  *Snicker*

  • Good morning.  I shall be scarce online today.   I have to run to Port Angeles to take Jer to his much delayed one year checkup.  Since there I shall of course do errands.

My kids are actually being picked up to go spend a bit of time at grandma's.    Thanks to a nice offer from my mom.  And then I have to rush home to get them to a earlier basketball practice.  So, it'll all be fun. *Snort*

If you haven't indulged me on this please do.  Thanks.  Its been intresting to read.

If your the one of two or three people who hasn't put one up *snicker*  You should, its kind of fun.

My back is achey today, I guess I overdid it yesterday, and it didn't like me doing the touch-up paint.

Someone in my house had a party last night.  I heard the computer beeping--rebelling at whatever command whichever kid was attempting to use.  There was a glass of water in the girls room which they didn't put there.  And chocolate syrup, and jam in the bathroom.   This would appear to be one of the boys, but they are absolutely denying it.  *sigh*   We actually have been thinking Jamari sleep walks, but aren't sure.  Oh good, a bowl of ice cream in the  girls room.

Nevermind, Rainee fessed up.  Argh, she had a party.  She's very calm about informing me she got a chair, got out ice cream, and so on.  ARGH!!  I couldn't have slept that hard.  Apparently so.

I did that once when I was little...accept I fell asleep on the couch when I was done.  *snort*  I guess what goes around comes around.

  • This appears to be popular today.  I'm willing to submit to peer pressure some days.  *grin*

    Give me some feedback.

  • There is a magnetic on Jeremiah's head.   Cause he just cracked his head again.  Can I make him wear a helmet???
