Good morning

Life feels much better today, which is funny considering I got no sleep last night either. Zeria had nightmares...three of them. She ended up sleeping on our floor. They were very vivid, and actually succeeded in freaking Rob and I out a bit. LOL Rainee woke up to discover Zeria was missing and started crying, so she ended up on Rob's side of the bed. And Jer did his normal wake up in the middle of the night thing.
I made the phone call to E yesterday. She hopes to come visit this weekend. If she doesn't that's okay, at least I tried. I also have a lead on a very close neighbor with kids.
The suggestions about church are great, except the churches available don't have umm a great reputation. Their social functions, versus faith functions. We have calls into both pastors, but can't get ahold of either of them. We want to actually interview them, and assure ourselves that hersay isn't just that.
At this point the church we are the most comfortable with is actually the Catholic church, because they still believe in the inherancy of Scripture. And I'm still just a bit edgy about going there. I have several awesome friends who go, I'm just not a liturgical kind of person. The emphasis on Mary also makes me a bit concerned. But, I might try. LOL Who knows.
School is going well, and without conflict. We have one more day of blend letters, and then we're going to switch our emphasis to some serious hands on math. I have superb teachers manuals for manipulative math that I would like to really dig into rather, then the little dipping we've been doing.
And Zeria just sprained her ankle. HMMM its gonna be a long day.

Hi there,
I was browsing sites and stumbled across yours. Very pretty.
My little girl hasnt gotten to the bad dream stage quit yet but I imagine soon she will want to start climbing into bed with us. What are the ages of your kids?
Well I hope you are having a super day!!!!!!!
Kate
WUT Catholic church believes in the Scripture? Okay, they do, but as a sole source? As the final source? *big eyes* I'm a little confused on that one. *chuckles* Do they believe in the Scripture as God's SOLE Word to humanity? Double check that. Check their doctrine as well. Do, do, do check around a lot more and make a few visits. It took Jeff and me two years and a couple of churches before we found a home in Las Vegas. It's okay to church hop a little and just listen to the pastor first, then go from there. Never trust gossip or hearsay... if I had I wouldn't have joined my last church in California which was, torn as it was, a family of fellow believers. What is the mission of the church? What does the pastor have to say?
I'm preaching to the choir I suspect. Anyway. I'll just slink away now.
ROFL...I took the kids to a liturgical Christmas Eve Service at a Lutheran church in town. I grew up Catholic until I was caleb's age and *really* liked the holiday services. I don't agree with alot of their theology, but they did know how to really "celebrate" Christmas and Easter in a way I haven't seen in any church I've been to since. I ended up trying the Lutheran one since it was at least protestant. LOL It wasn't too bad really, I kinda liked it. I think Rachel did too but she was struggling to stay away.
It was fairly toned down since it was the late service (they had an earlier one it was too close to our churches service which Chris had to go to so we went with him. lol)
Oops. I meant Rachel couldnt' stay AWAKE. LOL I'm also kinda giggling at Jenny's post... I almost did go to the catholic church just for the christmas eve service, but I figured since I had other options I'd try those first.
The whole praying to Mary and the saints just doesn't sit well with me.
*snickers and sticks a tongue back out at SIL* Hehehehe.
I don't disagree that there is a certain amount of majesty and beauty to the Catholic service, but uh... ehehehe.
Anyway. I just hope you find the right church family. Friends come in time, not right away.
Having moved so many times this has become a point proved to my husband who used to insist I make immediate friends and has sinced quite backed off. LOL Take care.
The choices of church are a Presbyterian USA, an Assembly of God, a Church of Christ, and the Catholic one. Unless of course I'm intrested in Mormans or Jw's. *snigger* This is a teensy town, and those churches I listed are teensy. Population umm 200? And the nearest "big" town is 45 minutes away. As is the nearest other church.
The AOG Rob will not go to. Long story, he just won't, and theirs no twisting his arm. Rob is the one that threatened the Catholic church. I somehow doubt we're gonna go that way. I just don't want to do that much explaining to my kiddos. So we're down to two. And neither of them are answering the phone at the moment. LOL Our old church is only 45 minutes away, but I'd so much rather move into this community. we shall see.
of those choices...Presbyterian sounds the "safest" to me, but you'd have to actually try it out. I agree with Rob on the AOG as does Dh.
OR.
*gasps and chuckles* Start your own? A small Bible study?
LOL Jenny, I also suggested that to her on the chat a while back.
