• It didn't rain today (mostly) so we bundled up and headed to the beach. It was spectacular. This is the ocean versus the strait, and oh my goodness. Just impressive today. There was no actual place to walk. We hid behind driftwood and just watched. And well screamed a couple times as our perch got just a bit close for comfort once or twice. The big pieces were actually groaning which is always a bit terrifying.

    A nice calm log....

Nice and far away and safe.

    Orrr not.

A beautiful piece of twisted driftwood sculpture. I would love it in my front yard. *grin* One can dream right?

And once again a big wave. This one actually made me jump back, as quite frankly it was dangerous. There were big pieces that had already been caked loose floating in the ocean. I woulda loved to capture one, but wasn't getting that close LOL

Kaylin actually got scared and started crying as one almost sent us flying...before we backed up. She stuck quite close to Rob after that LOL.

I took lots and lots of waves crashing pictures. But am picking out my favorites. It was just so beautiful, and the pictures don't capture it well.

Rob and I could have stayed all day, but the kids kept sneaking closer and we were intensely concerned about their safety. So after about a half hour or so we headed to a nearby town to get a couple kiddos rubber boots, and buy lunch. All and all it was a nice day.

Oh wait one more beach picture.

The seastacks through the fog. So, So beautiful.

  • i love your pics, especially the crashing waves. whenever i go the beach (not the one here in se texas - too flat, too calm - no crashing waves) i try to take as many crashing waves pics as i can - i think they are more fun to take than your basic scenery pic. keep dry and mud-free!

  • Your pictures are gorgeous!!! What beach is it that has that type of scenery?

  • Lovely photos! Just beautiful!

  • Well, that would explain why I don't know that beach. I live about 40 minutes from the Atlantic ocean. I have visited many beaches along the east coast, but none have look quite like yours. It is really beautiful.
