Drove to "real" beach today versus the strait which is nice, but just
doesn't count. ROFL. Normally this would take 1 1/2
hours. Now, it takes 35 minutes. This I like! This is one of our favorite beaches, and we hadn't been there since
Rainee was 2. LOL It was a long crooked drive in the
past.
I actually have a group picture of us standing at this beach...when
Rainee was "just" walking. Probably shared it here.
LOLBut in the meantime here we were earlier today. I love the timer/tripod with my camera. *Grin*
Jer LOVED the soft sand, and had a great time actually walking (holding
hands most of the time.) The other kids had a lovely time
building terrific sand villages. Hmm, can't get the curser
to drop below the picture, its a quirk of firefox. So my
blogging about pictures is slightly outa order you have an imagination
right? LOLJer was as I said holding hands and walking all over he usually prefers
to be carried, or cruising on furniture. But the sand was
apparently to his liking. And he walked between us a
lot. I went to take a picture and said "Jer come to
mommy," And he did...letting go of daddys hand and
walking. He ended up walking about 20 feet as I kept taking 2
little steps backwards before he decided he was done with that game and
sat down. Its his farthest walk yet *grin*As I mentioned each of the kiddos built sand villages very elaborate
ones which they described in great detail. This is Kaylin
and Zeria's joint contribution.
I actually took pictures of all the kids creations, but don't want to
stuff this blog up with too many pictures. It was just a lovely
day, we needed a all family day off. And so
badly. And this, this is my unique family picture. *grin* The shadows were fantastic, and I just had to try.
And as I mentioned earlier the tripod/timer shot. I'm very happy
with it, and may use it on our Christmas cards....well our after
Christmas cards ROFL. We shall see. The only bummer
is Jer is looking the otherway can't have everything can
we? And how funny is it that we fussed and fussed over what
nickname we would use for JEremiah, and then one just came natural to
us, and completely accidental. We call him Jer or Jerbud
most of the time. HIs other name is BrotherBear. Not
sure it just seems appropriate.Anyhow tomorrow is a busy day. We're driving in to do the last of
our Christmas shopping (hopefully) And Rob & I are going to
drop the kids off at my parents, and go see Narnia (provided the lines
aren't too long.) It will be a LONG day as the drive
itself is just a bit of a killer, but thats okay. We need some us
time BAD. The next day will be bad too as we have church in
the morning, and the SS Christmas program in the evening. I
really don't want to do the hour drive home for 4 hours, but also don't
want to hang at somebody's house for 4 hours. So, unsure
what we're going to do. I guess we'll just be burning miles
in the van. In other words probably I shall be scarce
until MOnday. Such is life.
