  • I'm giggling at Zvanzivou's 1.5 inches of rain being wet.   I found this for where we live.

    http://www.weatherperhour.com/US/WA/Sekiu.html

    The inches of rain by the hour for the next 8 or so.

    Rainfall (inches) 0.01 0.04 0.05 0.05 0.04 0.02 0.03 0.05 0.05 0.06 0.04 0.01

    For tomorrow we have

    Rainfall (inches) 0.11 0.11 0.08 0.05 0.04 0.04 0.04 0.04 0.04 0.04 0.03 0.01

    Yup, its raining.  And will continue to do so.  *snicker*

  • It didn't rain today (mostly)  so we bundled up and headed to the beach.  It was spectacular.   This is the ocean versus the strait, and oh my goodness.  Just impressive today.     There was no actual place to walk.   We hid behind driftwood and just watched.   And well screamed a couple times as our perch got just a bit close for comfort once or twice.   The <i>big</i>  pieces were actually groaning which is always a bit terrifying.

    A nice calm log....

    Nice and far away and safe.

    Orrr not.

    A beautiful piece of twisted driftwood sculpture.  I would love it in my front yard.  *grin*  One can dream right?

    And once again a big wave.   This one actually made me jump back, as quite frankly it was dangerous.   There were big pieces that had already been caked loose floating in the ocean.   I woulda loved to capture one, but wasn't getting that close LOL

    Kaylin actually got scared and started crying as one almost sent us flying...before we backed up.   She stuck quite close to Rob after that LOL.

    I took lots and lots of waves crashing pictures.   But am picking out my favorites.   It was just so beautiful, and the pictures don't capture it well.

    Rob and I could have stayed all day, but the kids kept sneaking closer and we were intensely concerned about their safety.   So after about a half hour or so we headed to a nearby town to get a couple kiddos rubber boots, and buy lunch.   All and all it was a nice day.

    Oh wait one more beach picture.

    The seastacks through the fog.   So, So beautiful.

  • And life

    Its raining.

    Its astounding really how much rain we've had in the last two weeks.  My dad tried to warn me that it was worse out here.  And we kinda laughed at him.

    Its bad.

    Yes its raining everywhere, but trust me *not* this much.   We get 120 inches a year apparently, and my guess would be we're up to 45 of it in the last 2 weeks.

    MUD with a capital M.  Its equating apprxoimate 3 loads of laundry a day.

    LOTS of MUD.

    I think my next pixie baby should be named muddy not rain.   *snigger*

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    That out of the way.   Life keeps moving on.  I was a major bumb today with a capital B  and watched 6 hours of SeaQuest marathon on SciFi channel.  It was fun.   In commercials I cleaned house, made dinner, and painted on my kitchen.  Its requiring many coats on my "accent" wall.  I didn't do a primer.  I will be on the rest of the house.  A lesson has been learned.
    UGH.
    Tomorrow if its dry we're headed to a beach.  Quite possibly Rialto.  Its in my top two favorites.   If its not dry I'm running away all by myself.   We want to do the beach some time this weekend and figured we'd do it whatever day it wasn't raining.  hahahahahahaha
    rain appears to be the topic today doesn't it?
    On other news.  My r/p board is actually moving.  I'm so excited.  My longest online friend got brave and has started.   Flute is playing.   And I have 3 "private" boards moving.  Its so much fun to see my world thats in my head coming to life.
  •  nnnnnnnnn
    My not so helpful helper this evening
    she has a thing against me typing
  • Pictures.  *grin*
    I finally got my camera inside.  Just gonna share a few.  The first is Jeremiah.  Daddy thought maybe he would like to be a Christmas present.  Jer didn't think so.
    Actually he was just a bit overwhelmed at grandmas.  I just can't imagine why.  (sarcasm)  Its never quiet when my familiy gets together.  Of course it was worse when my sister was playing the piano, my brother the harmonica, and my dad the guitar...on top of us all talking.   So so loud.  *snigger*
    My mom wrote a puppet show for the grandkidds and gave each kid a puppet.  She recorded the story on tape, and also had a book made for each family of the story to take home.  My mom is a good writer.   After practicing it with grandma in the bedroom they put it on for us.
    It was good for lots of giggles.  Especially when Samuel and Jamari started fighting with their dinosaurs.  "play fighting" you know.  LOL
    And this is just typical of some of the chaos that goes on.....
    This would be my brother, making room on the window seat for himself.  Wether there was room or not.
    There wasn't just so ya know.
    Don't they all look thrilled?  ROFL
    Shortly after those pictures were taken we went and drove and looked at a few Christmas lights.
    The rest of the pictures are pretty similar.  I was just too busy enjoying Christmas to remember to take pictures of Christmas.  LOL
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    This morning it was raining cats & dogs (again).   We went for a walk in it, splashing through puddles, and then made a quick trip for pops, and a drive along the beach.  When its all of thirty-seconds away it rather calls to me to go.      Anyhow the rain is taking its toll, and this one just amused me somehow.    This was a field two days ago when we drove by.  Now its a lake, and the ducks have moved in.

    I so love rain.

    I mean after all my user name is Rainydame, and my daughters name is Rainee.  And quite frankly I'm sick of Rain.  ROFL  I know its what makes this a green paradise, but it also makes mud, lots and lots and lots of mud.

    Its okay, we won't drown.  *we hope*

    *giggles*

  • okies help me out.  Rainee has very carefully spilled a full bottle of dark blue finger nail polish all over my vinyl floor.  My natural reaction (after I was done shrieking) was to clean it up with finger nail polish removal.  The store is out of it.  Its a 35 minute drive one way to the next possible place. *snort*  I have no desire to drive their until at least Friday, but I also don't want to look at blue.

    Any suggestions???

  • Good morning

    One of the things with living out here is we *gasp* get to eat 2 meals a day with Rob most days.

    It is taking a bit of adjusting to get used to this.  I got rather used to just scrabbling something for the kids and I and not preparing ahead.  I need to rework the menu a bit I think.

    But today we are having garlic bread from Costco (MMMMM!)  and a lovely chicken salad.

    Just waiting for the bread to cook.

    The sun is *gasp* trying to shine.  And the rain has temporarily stopped.  I went out side and played in the mud puddles for awhile and got the one big one where we park draining.   We need some gravel, but there's lots of things we neeed its just the way life is.

    I still haven't gotten my camera in the house to show Christmas pictures so maybe later today.   And other then that life flows on.  We're doing school this week as theirs no reason not to, and it helps for the days that we don't for whatever reason.

    The kiddos are reading their Christmas books outloud to me which is a challenge as I purposefully bought right at the edge of their reading level.  So far they are enjoying them, and learning some new words as they go.

  •

    Eeeny, Meeny, Miney Mo which would should I go with???

  • Christmas Loot List *Snort*

    I don't really like the Christmas loot lists.  Kind of detracts from the actual meaning of Christmas somehow.   So, we're not going to have one.

    I will mention a big thank you to Dee for the gift she sent its very cute.    I will be using it on Sundays for the kids notebooks & stuff.

    The boys,  Rob, Sam, and Jamari got fishing poles for Christmas.   And yes that would be mentioning loot.  *snigger*   But the reason for this is as a result we all went fishing.    In the rain.  BIG rain.   And mommy is the one who had to teach them all how to fish, as daddy hasn't done it but maybe once or twice when he was teensy.

    And what did we catch?   A alder tree,  a blackberry bush, a boy or two, but no fish.   Lost a lure, had to untangle more string then I care to think about, but all in all it was quite fun.   We will do it some more, and maybe just maybe some time we'll actually catch something.  *snigger*

    My parents felt a little bit cheated having Christmas so they decided Christmas day after church they'd go avisiting and went and dropped in on each of us.  This was lovely, and also enabled us to move our hot tub.   Due to many reasons we decided where we landed it was the wrong place, so we used prys, and beams (simple machinery)  and moved it where it should be without anyone hurting themselves.

    After they left we had a simplified Christmas dinner.  Turkey, stuffing (from stauffers), mashed potatoes (leftover from my moms).  And we ate desert first when my parents were here.  (Strawberry pie, Apple pie, and Popcorn balls)   After we ate we had tons of leftovers and had already planned to do a version of boxing day.   Rob had two (he thought)  coworkers up at the prison in the Medical Department Christmas day.  The one has befriended us (big time)  and is extremely lonesome.  Her husband died three years ago and her family all lives far away.   Anyhow no Christmas dinner for them.  So we called and asked them if they wanted some.   They said yes, we told them to come to the gate in 15 minutes.   And their Lillian was.  *grin*   We handed them a plate of turkey, one of potatoes, stuffing, etc.     Hope it was enough.  I found out after wards it was three coworkers (thanks Rob LOL)   So, I know I didn't put in enough desert darn it, but hey they were still very appreciative and called to say thank you after they'd eaten.  *grin*

    So Boxing day a day early.   In the authentic boxing day style.

    Anyhow it was a fun day and worked out well.  I have pictures of Christmas Eve, but didn't take much of Christmas day decided to enjoy it rather then picture take.  And we did even if I was grumpy before Christmas started.

    Edit

    http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas/boxing.asp   Here's a long explanation about boxing day.  Essentially it was when those who were well off boxed up stuff to give them to the less fortunate the day after Christmas.   Its still a legal holiday in Canada, I *think* Australia, and England, but don't quote me on that.  LOL
