  • My sister sang this at my grandma's funeral.   She's was a music major and wrote it several weeks before she died.

Its beautiful, and not just cause its about my grandma...I wish you could hear it with the music.

    Bologna and Lemonade

    Her special treat

and reading out loud in her home.

The story of colors and Rumpelstiltskin

and the train that chased its tail.

But most of all was her love of God

and her longing to go home.

Though she fell on hard times

    so long ago

she's been waiting for this day all her life.

Cause' she's home free and praising the Lord

    reunited with loved ones past

but best of all things and I know she'd agree

is she's finally home free with her Lord.

    Crocheting and knitting

    Embroidery and books

and all of the things that she loved,

couldn't compare with her longing to be

Back with her husband and kids

But even more important then being with them.

was her longing to go home.

Chorus;   Cause she's home free and praising the Lord.

reunited with loved ones long past

but best of all things and I know she'd agree

is she's finally home free with her Lord.

  • Awww man, I'm crying! That was just beautiful. *sniff* And do you know why I love it so much, besides it being such a testimonial to a wonderful woman? It reminds me of what my children (and someday grandchildren) will remember me by. Just little, simple things.

  • :heartbeat: That's just so beautiful!
