And true comfort food.
I'm not nesting oh no I'm not.
(sarcasm oozes) But I *am* going to go make my grandma's gingersnaps tanky very much!!!! And cherish the memories that come with them.
One year for Christmas when I was ummm 14? She made each child/grandchild in her family 4 or 5 dozens of these as our Christmas present. I shudder to think how much time that took her.
The note at the end of this was written by my grandma. Definitely a nostalgia kind of day.
Ginger Snaps
2 cups lard
2 cups molasses
4 cups sugar
melt together
4 eggs beaten & added when cool
11 cups flour
4T ginger
2 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
I think the recipe is from my grandmother Breithaupt who made a barrel at a time as they keep so well. It is the recipe we always used at home. Catherine Breithaupt Bower

Mmm... another nice sounding recipe!
mmmmm, may just have to try that receipe for my tree. I have been thinking about making the decorations "homemade" this year. Those would be great decorations... just don't know if the dogs or kids would leave them alone.
