  • Good morning

Its beautiful outside.  No clouds, blue sky...just wonderful.

I have some zucchini to deliver to my sister, and some pictures to deliver to my mom.   I can drive without it hurting.  And then I'll find a nice lawn chair at one of their houses and visit for awhile.  *snicker*

Okay so I've slightly modified bedrest....but as long as the contractions stay at bay tis okay.

Last night was wonderful.   Rob lit a loverly campfire and we sat around it and stared at it for hours.   The kids played hide & seek, and visited, and through "poppers" on the fire.  (cedar needles that popped when they hit the fire.)   Just rather idyllic.

No pictures....was entirely too comfortable on my lawn chair to bother with the camera.

Parenting dilema.  I'm so sick of night time.  My kids will NOT NOT NOT stay in bed.  Every night we fight the battle for several hours.  Last night was no exception.   I've tried every creative means known to man to convince Sam and Jamari they have to be quiet at bedtime.  Any other ideas?

And we upped their bedtime by almost 2 hours thinking that would help...nope just made it worse...cause now we're fighting them until 11 pm.  *sigh*

I was talking with Munchkin Mommy and she has similar problems.  *growls*  Is it a boy thing?    My brother and sister and I, just stayed in bed.  We *knew* what would happen if we got out.    The boys know...and just don't care.    *GROWLS*   This has got to stop.   Sam is 6...we've been fighting this battle since we moved him out of the crib at 2.5.       Its such a lovely battle.

Okay other then that life moves on.  Have a great day all

  • You know mine actually went to be better last night...I think they were too tired to fight it. LOL  We'll see what happens tonight.  Although I can't say it's a boy thing, 'cause Rachel is getting bad too, but not as bad as Caleb.

  • I know its not Mommy advice, but I use to pull stuff like that a lot at the baby sitters.  She had a boy that we got a long great so we would sneak out into the living room after all the lights were out.  It wasn't so much the not being tired thing as much as it was just the thrill of being the only two awake.  The woman finally just left us alone.  I remember waking up one time under this bamboo chair one time.  Ya know the kind that you can just curl up in because its huge and the legs is this round 'cage' like thing under it?  It was great fun...but uhm, that was completely useless info, eh?

The only thing I can think of is something that I can imagine Gramma would do.  Make them stay up.  Sit them down on the couch and make them stay awake.  The idea is the whole reverse psychology thing.  If they have to stay up they'll want to go to bed.

  • Oh how I remember that! Bedtime was always a battle. I guess I gave up, but its more peaceful. I just let them sleep wherever they want. The other night Kira was on the sofabed in Jimmy's room, last night she was on the livingroom sofa. Whatever...she's sleeping. I had Jimmy in bed with me last night. He was scared. Maybe when they're in high school they'll sleep in their own beds...I can dream
