I'm looking at ghosts today.
I brought home all of my grandma's pictures. I'm "rescuing" the ones that my family might want. And then sending the rest to my uncles house. The less said about my uncle the better.

He's being umm his normal ornrey self.
I was planning on scanning a bunch today.....but of course my scanner won't work. *beats said scanner* It keeps saying the computer can't communicate with it. I've checked the cords a bazillion times. Bangs on it some more.
I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go get a new one. The pictures are apparently causing tension. My mom wants them in her possession as short as time as possible.
IMHO...
If my uncle hasn't given a rats ass about my grandma in 14 years why should we worry about his feelings now???
There I feel better now.
ROFL !
My cousin who hasn't spoken a word to my grandma in umm ten years??? Is getting the only thing in the house that I truely wanted. It figures. *snicker* Oh no I'm not bitter.
My mom is determined it should go to her. I'm not entirely sure why seeings said cousin wrote off her entire family 15 years ago.
Possibly cause she's the oldest....
by 11 months.
Here's odds for ya. I'm the second oldest on my moms and dads side of the family of the grandkids. My two older cousins are both just 11 months older. (go figure)
So I smiled and didn't make a fuss. I refuse to be the one who causes a family scene. I got the salt & pepper shaker I wanted, and I got the dragon tea-set. When I unwrap it I'll take a picture and put it up. It may actually be worth a few pennys...but its not for sale. Just for memories.
I may still pick up a chair of my grandma's. But only if nobody wants it. My brother doesn't...I just asked. My boy cousins haven't spoken to my grandma in 8 years...I doubt they do. ROFL. Their way too sophisticated for my grandma's down-home country.
I did find a awesome picture of my grandma's little mouse-trap of a house. I was glad 'cause its been totally redone and I realized I didn't have a single one of the house I spent so many hours in. As soon as the scanner works I have to put it up. And I'm gonna frame it.

As well as some really awesome pictures of my dad when he's little. Including one *ahem* picking his nose. cackles madly.
And a baby picture of my grandma, and my grandpa. Must scan those before they disappear into my uncles house never to be seen again
Anyhow stares at the ghosts surrounding my table...and wonders who some of them are.
Note to all of you. LABEL your frickin' pictures. Date, name, where their taken. I know, you said you'd get to it someday. So did my grandma. Do it already!!! Cause other wise their just junk essentially......

If the scanner won't work, you could try taking pictures of the pictures with the digital camera...I've done that when my scanner refused to communicate
:sunny: I love old photos... My UNCLE has all the photos belonging to our family too! :lookaround:
Grandchildren that havent spoken to their grandparents in that many years are entitled to NOTHING.
