Decisions, decisions.
A dream has been presented to us....and oh the temptation mounts.
My parents once again are talking about moving. It really is a wise financial, and emotional, and spiritual decision.
Their house is perfect for raising a family.
With lots of room to grow.
I love my house, but I have two boys in one bedroom and soon three girls in another. Who knows where number 6 is going??? *snicker*
Our house payment is disgustingly cheap. $330 a month.
My parents house is worth a minimum of $225,000. They have offered it to us for $200,000. 15 acres, 3 car garage, barn, apartment, and five bedroom house.
The payments would be approximately $850.00. Over double what we make. We could do it...but then finances will always be tight.
Its a dream....
Somebody slap me in the face with reality please????

id say go for it
Oh Tonia... I'm going to have to say PRAY ABOUT IT! It sounds like a STEAL and you'd be starting out with a huge amount of equity in your home. That in itself would be a blessing. Plus, you could sell your home and put it toward the purchase price, so the bottom line payment might even less. Of course, there's the added heating and cooling costs, taxes, etc. At any rate, I'll be praying God gives you wisdom. You're family isn't getting any smaller, and now might be the best time to make the move.

I wasn't much help was I?
Hugs and prayers!
I'd say DO IT. Finances will ALWAYS be tight no matter what. You obviously need a bigger house because when those girls get bigger, they are not going to be able to share a bathroom!
Can you rent the apartment out?
Oh, what an opportunity! Definately pray on it, but it sounds like it might be a blessing.
Good luck deciding!
WOW! Only $850/mth. for a $200K house!! My first reaction was to go for it. ROTFL
Our payment was almost twice that for a house almost half the cost here...thanks to homeowners insurance, taxes, etc. Is that just what they are paying now versus what it would be if you bought it at current value?
Believe me if you were over here you would get a LOT LESS house for that sort of money!
I have to say that I am sitting with my jaw down to my knees (as if that could happen lol!) but I live in san jose, CA and I have 6 children 18 to 8 yrs. ouch! lol.. and you cant rent a bedroom in a tract home for 850 a month! you are so fortunate! God is blessing you immensely! I live in a 2 bedroom mobile home in the middle of silicon valley right up the street are homes that have crackerbox bedrooms (twinbed&dresser only) and they are $850.000...(even at 10% that would be $8,500 a month house pmt! I dont pay much because the mobile is paid for but my husband and I have never had our own bedroom so the children can have theirs 3 in each, bunkbeds and a twin in each . one bathroom! at least we are happy they have a comp too and nintendo etc.. to buy a home would be so expensive i refuse to make them move they are used to their schools and friends etc. and church .. so for now we do this. Hopefully i'll be able to get a bigger one like a 4 bedroom the latest and greatest.. until they are done with school .. my hus makes 18 an hour and i make approx 1,000 a month and its so hard to make ends meet. no carpmts, no vacations, just bills and food etc.. i just wanted you to know how lucky you are to have an opportunity like that! and to be able to rent that apt out too! wow you could at least make half your housepmt! my prayers and thoughts are with you! take care! and get rest! been there done that! lol! the 6th wow yah i remember!
