  • Good afternoon.

So, I did my grocery-shopping, and theory is I won't have to go back to town 'til after Christmas.

Oh and happy dance!  I asked someone at SAfeway and they found perogys for me.  (big grin)

Had to go to two Safeway's though to get the Chinesse barbequed pork I wanted for dinner tomorrow night.  Christmas eve at my moms is cold-cuts/finger foods.  And though the pork is spendy its a fun treat.   Also splurged and got little smokeys.

My sister made up a batch of fudge for me, and now it really feels like Christmas.

Bought the last of hubby's stocking stuffers, and Katie (my youngest niece's) present showed up today from Amazon, so we're all set....well except I still have to wrap a couple pressies.

Trying to do the handprints in cement for grandma Signor's very late birthday.  So currently my kitchen is rather covered in ready-mix.  *snort*   We promised these to her, but she didn't want us to mail them, and we didn't want to mail them as it would be very $$$ so now she's gonna be here tomorrow and we never did them LOL..........so two down 3 to go.  Doing them in stages.  Think I'm gonna let the two I did set to make sure I did it right.

What we're doing is we bought big plastic garden water catcher thingys and putting cement in them.  Then the kids hand prints and decorated with marbles.   These will make great stepping stones, and cute memorbilia of the kiddos.

Bought some more mandorin oranges.  (probably the last 'til next year)  Rainee keeps bringing them to me to opie opie opie.   I'm so looking forward to changing that diaper.  :-X

Had fun making a siggie last night for Glory.    I fussed and fussed with it LOL, and then all of a sudden it was what I'd been trying to accomplish for a long time.   Was wishing once again to use my Christmas present LOL.   Have a suspicion all my charries will be getting siggy overhauls when I install it.....

Bought myself another chair for the living room today.  It *gasp* matches the second-hand furniture I already own.  Only $35 and quite comfy.  We were rather needing another one anyhow, so was quite pleased to add it.   My furniture I have these days is very 70ish.    But capable of surviving my kids, and thats the truely important issue.  *giggles*

  • I know there are actual kits out there for what you're doing, but hey... if it works, it's good. I did a handprint ages ago in Plaster of Paris. I want to do the same for the girls and we used P of P and pie tins about 30 years ago.

*hugs* Hope it all turns out gorgeously.

  • Yup there are kits...$35 a pop.  We paid $4 for our cement, and $7 for the marbles.  Much more our budget.

  • "Opie!" That's cute.  Never thought of concrete in the kitchen... you got one up on Emeril! :coolman:  Hope they turn out well.  Thanks for the hugs.:heartbeat::love::heartbeat:

  • :sunny: I love the stepping stones idea!!! How nice!

    Happy Christmas!

  • I could never do that with my kids becaue I'd probably be all to tempted to leave them in the cement . . Stepping Stone with Garden Kid!!! Gett'em while they're erm y'know stuck.

hehehehehe.  I'm pretty terrible somtimes, even by my standards.

Onthe upside YAY!!! Perogies . . Mmmmmm I had some two days ago :)

  • Hmmm, I have a kit (haven't done it yet) but I don't think I spent that much on  it??

    Merry Christmas. :)
