  • Things that make you go are people REALLY stupid enough to believe this?   I got this in e-mail today.  What do you think,  should I send him the info he wants

    hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

    InterGlobe Bank Plc.
    24 Norman Williams Street
    S/W Ikoyi Lagos
    Nigeria.

    Dear Sir,

My name is Alhaji Abdulkareem Mohammed.. I am the assistant head of credit
and accounts department of InterGlobal Bank Plc,Western District, Nigeria.

I write you in respect of a foreign customer who has a Domicilliary
accuont in my bank. His name is Engineer Joseph Schultzman. He was among
those who died in a plane crash during the reign of late General Sani
    Abacha.

Sir, since the demise of this our customer, Engineer Joseph Schultzman,
who was an oil merchant/contractor, I have kept a close watch of the
deposit records and accounts and since then nobody has come to claim the
money in this a/c as next of kin to the late Engineer. He had only
USD16,000,000 (Sixteen million united states dollars) in his a/c and the
a/c is coded. It is only an insider that could produce the code or
password of the deposit account particulars. As it stands now, there is
nobody in that position to produce the needed information other than my
very self considering my position in the bank.

Based on the reason that nobody has come forward to claim the deposit as
next of kin, I hereby ask for your co-operation in using your name as the
next of kin to the deceased to send these funds out to your foreign
offshore bank a/c for mutual sharing between myself and you. At this point
I am the only one with the information because I have removed the deposit
    file from the bank.

By this doing, what I at from you is to send an application laying claims
of the deposit as next of kin to the late Engineer with all the
information I will furnish you. I will need your full name and address,
company or residential, so that i can computerize them to tally with next
of kin column in the database entry on our banks computers.

Finally i want you to understand that the request for a foreigner as the
next of kin is occassioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner
and for that reason alone a local cannot represent as next of  kin. When
you contact me, then we shall discuss on how we will share the money.

Trusting to hear from you, I remain

    Respectfully yours,

    Abdulkareem Mohammed

  • *snicker* I get several of those a month.

  •   That's one I've managed to avoid so far!  What's really scary is if anyone really does respond?

  • I do have some albuterol, but I don't really think that's the problem... don't know if it'll help.  Alot of it is because she just gets all worked and freaked out over her body trying to cough up stuff she doesn't want to get rid of. lol  She kept fighting it instead.  Once she relaxed and calmed down, she's fine so I can tell alot of it is just her reaction.  Right now the warm soup and cold juice and/or water seems to be keeping it in check too so she's much happier.   She wanted a waffle, but we'll see how much soup she gets down first.   I can't see her eating much of a waffle right now. lol

  • He sent me the same email LOL The scary thing is that they wouldn't keep sending those if there weren't silly people who fall into traps like that

  • When I worked in banking we would get monthly alerts on what were called 'Nigerian Banking Scams'  and they would outline what the current scam was and what to look for on behalf of our more 'gullible' customers.  I also learned while working that there is actually a school you can attend to learn how to set up these scams.

  • Me commenting again...hehehe  I thought of trying the albuterol if she still sounded bad today, but she's done alot better as far as that was concerned since she got up this morning.  Last night she was just a disaster--she doesn't handle being sick too well.   She's even eaten better today than Caleb did when he was sick--not alot, but she ate several times a little bit each time.  And other than being alot more low keyed and hanging out on the sofa, she did fairly well.  She seems to have lost her voice though so I am keeping an eye on her throat to see how that is.  But I still think she can talk more than she's trying--she's taken the easy way out by reverting to pointing and whispering.   I'll see how she does tomorrow before making an appt.  I don't think she is at the point to where she'd need an antibiotic--yet, and at this point that's all the dr. would be able to do for her.  She just started getting it yesterday evening so it hasn't been as long as Caleb had it before I took him in.  Eventhough he ended up with an ear infection (he'd also been to a swim party very recently before getting sick which may have played a factor in that), I'm not sure it's affecting them the same way--she'd be sure to let me know if her ears hurt...she's my hypocondriac child. LOL
