  •     Had a bit of a break from reality the last couple days.  It was quite lovely.  My mom dropped the quad by on Thursday so my 15 year old bro and friends could try the trails around here.  And then *dang*  but she left it with us for a day and a half.  It was soooooooo much fun.  We have trails everywhere and rarely get to explore cause there steep, and I can't carry a kiddo, and we have several who think they should still be carried some times.  LOL  So DH and I went for a two hour quad ride and went for miles upon miles.  And it was LOVERLY.

This morning just before we knew my mom was coming DH told me I could go for a quad ride ALL by myself.  It was a lovely gift.  I used to trike a LOT a LOT.  And so I had a lovely 40 minute ride and found the perfect hiking trail for my family.   So after my mom took the quad.   Welllllllll *grin*  we went hiking.  And I have lovely pictures.

Okay so this is actually a old logging road, but they make the best trails.  *snicker*  Princess road her bike as much as she could and the rest of us walked.  And it did eventually turn into a "trail"   And the view was just incredible.  The straight,  Vancouver Island,  the SAn Juans, and so on.    OOPS  uploaded outa order.  This is the second picture.  Of a *partial* view of what we could see.

    This is the "logging" road.

And now for the berry picking.  There were tons of wild blackberrys which my kids quite thoroughly enjoyed.  And knew to ask before they ate.  As we're working on what is poisonous what isn't.

We had to literally drag them away from this huge patch.  *snicker*  They just wanted to stay there and eat and eat.  It was fun.    Okay the whole afternoon was fun.

Then the princess found these really big leaves.  She was quite tickled.  She picked one and said LOOK mom an umbrella.  She wore it as a hat and used it as an umbrella.  And then wondered..."Did u used to play with these when you were a kid."

Of course I HAD to take a picture.  *snicker*

and then of course the brothers had to get into the act.  hehehehehe

HMMM that picture does NOT want to upload.  Of course I knew I was being greedy with pictures tonight, but they all turned out so well   And I wanted to show you my fun day.   Thursday afternoon I took all of my kids to grandma's house and we spent 3 hours designing head gear for Rainee's oxygen nodule.  Its working,  and I'm  currently catching up on sleep again.  Rainee only desatted once last night.  And that was early morning, so I'd actually gotten a *bit* of sleep.

So I had it Soooooooooo together I even packed a picnic lunch.  Okay it was PBJ's and a bag of chips we ran to the store and bought.  *snicker*  But it sounded good.   We sat at the end of the trail and ate it and then the kiddos climbed on a hill for a bit and we headed back.   Daddy took a picture of the picnic,  but daddy is NOT the photographer in this house....so pretend my head is just a bit bigger k?

I have currently been uploading pictures to this blog for an hour.  Xanga used to upload quickly for me,  but ever since there last improvement *sigh*  It takes a wretched eternity!

So I'm gonna give up on the picnic picture and I'll try tomorrow.

    Enjoy my pictures.

Oh yes and the funny is.  We got all the way back to the car and I told the kids just before we got there that "Oh, no daddy forgot the keys back where we had the picnic and we're gonna have to sit here while he hikes all the way back to get them."  Kaylin looked at me and said.  Mom are you making a lie?.

    Yep...I was.  *grin*
