Month: June 2003

  • Good morning

Its a gorgeous day outside.    Maybe sis and I will take the kiddos to the park or something, not sure.  Have to wake up first.

Rob and I were woke up at 4:30 a.m. to a scritch, scritching that we couldn't identify.  We had a MOUSE in our bedroom.  EWWWWWWw  We never found it, but apparently startled it enough to leave us alone.  Of course Rainee was intrigued by all of this and awake for the day.  *sigh*  Soooo  life began early this morning.

We had a lovely time at my sisters house yesterday for Fathers Day.  Relaxed, no kids squabbling, and DH and bil went trail riding on their mountain bikes around bil's property.  They both came back thoroughly thrilled, and grins ear to ear.

I guess I'm headed to town today too to pick up a single seat stroller if I can find one cheap.  My last one went missing in August when I flew up to my Grandpa's funeral.  And I swore the last time I was at children's hospital I would NOT do it without a single stroller.  I have a double, but with only Rainee there, its kinda wide, and I get all kinds of snickery comments about "Where's the other baby?"  (smart-alecs)

Can't really afford a new one, so hoping to just get a VERY cheap umbrella one from Wal-mart, but gonna check Goodwill first and see if I can find a "even" cheaper one there.

I might be stupid and take the kids with me, but we will see.

Father God, I embrace this new day, and ask for you to smooth out all the details of it, and give me the wisdom to do what needs to be done, and the wisdom to ignore the rest.  I pray for HD and ask that he won't be as ornrey today, and that I will be able to spend quality time with each of the kiddos.  In your sons name, Amen

  • Good morning

And I'm a YAWNING!  I've been up since 4:30.  Rainee desatted in the middle 80's many times last night.

I guess that answers the question as to whether she's getting better.

So do you need a good laugh?  HUH? Huh?

Well okay this is the deal.  We bought the van.  Its a lovely van.  15 passenger Dodge Ram.  Air Condition, Cruise Control, automatic windows, tape deck.  And very clean.  (won't be that way for long HA!)

The mechanic that looked at it did us a great service and got us a new transmission for us out of the deal without paying anymore.  It really DOES pay to have the mechanic to look at it.

We drove into the town where we purchased it to pick it up on Friday.  We had a lovely time before hand playing at a park with a pond.  We got to see a bunch of ducks, the kids played with a frog, and we watched a muskrat swim in the water.  We then picked up the van.  We loaded the kiddos car seats in it etc.   We were so psyched.  We had a van that won't break down and is reliable.

    (drum roll please)

We got a flat tire on the way home!  And spent two hours of Saturday in the shop getting it fixed.

    I thought you'ld like that!

Oh did I mention that when you put stuff into our microwave it starts fires?  Its apparently dead, and is just barely a year old (if that, but I can't remember exactly when I bought it).

Did I mention my lawn is now currently up to my knees as DH killed the lawn mower.

Did I mention that DH didn't get his door for Father's DAy 'cause we had to buy a new van instead.

(We currently have no bathroom door, well we have one, but it is too big and doesn't close LONG story)

Sooooooo we get the tire fixed.  And the kiddos want to go show the new van to grandma.

Grandma had SAID she was gonna be home.  We drove there (out of the way)  Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd

She wasn't home.  Kiddos are sad.

    So we'll go to sisters.

    Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd

    She wasn't home.

Did I tell you when I got up Friday morning I promised Kaylin that I had NO where to go and if I went anywhere I would do it with her.  She was very happy to know she could trust me.

    Welllllllll

    My twittty son.

The five year old who continues to explore things he shouldn't.

He decided to explore his ear holes.  He put a piece of pea gravel in and couldn't get it out.  I had to take him to our pediatrician to get it out.

    TWIT!

    Broke the promise.

So I get home, and DH decides he and sis can go pick up the pony.  Oh cool, Kids are excited mommy, says "Pony's coming home today."  Oh they are so happy.

    Mommy lies again.

Pony wouldn't cooperate, so he stayed at grandmas for another day.

Did you know I'm a MAJOR liar?

Okay, so did I miss any of the major disasters that have happened in the last 48 hours?

HMMMM, I'm sure I must have missed a couple.

Oh yes,  I've had some kinda achey tummy thing going for the last 48 hours.  (Like AF trying her darndest to show up)  OUCHIE!  So I've been moaning over that.

And DH is depressed due to all the things broken down around here.

He spent HOURS fixing a fence for the pony so it could live here and not break out like it did last summer.  He plugged the fence in last night.  And wa-la! Its broken.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Touch me I'm broken!  Listen to my words I lie!

Its so much fun to live in this house.

    *snicker*

    Hysteria

    Runs away.....

  • Evening

Kids are in bed, DH as at work, and the house is ever so lovely and quiet.

We *think* we've found a van.  Its being detailed today, and tomorrow we will have a mechanic look at it, and unless something really wrong with it is found we have the loan okay to get it.

Rainee slept last night without oxygen.  She desatted to 90 many, many, many times, but no lower.  I'm hoping this means she's getting a bit better, but scared to let myself hope.  I guess we'll find out at the sleep study.

We have made the hard decision to keep her oxygen cannula on her 24/7.  The reason for this is one last ditch stand to avoid the arm restraints.  She will NOT leave the oxygen alone, because its "new" every night.  But at the hospital she figured out she couldn't pull it off 'cause it was always there.  So we're hoping if its always there she'll just get used to it, and we can avoid the arm restraints.  I oh so hope so!

The van that we're hoping to buy is HUGE.  (15 passenger) We were actually intrested in a 12 passenger, but none were available on the peninsula, and this one is a extremely good buy.  About $4,000 under blue book.  Soooo we're curious as to how God will have us use it.

My poor kiddos haven't seen much of me this week 'cause of all of our wretched van shopping, and errands.  Kaylin started sobbing when I left the house today.     So I sat and cuddled with her for awhile, and she had the promise of making cookies as a good bribe.

Unfortunately if we end up getting the van we will probably leave her one more time as a result of doing all the nasty old paper work.  But we will see.

Okay well gonna go check the boards, and then head to beddy bye.  I'm a ti'ie mommy (tired)

  • Quick blog as DH is expected home any minute.

Kids are all in bed sleeping soundly.  And I finally got a new probe for Rainee and got it set, so I can sleep good at night.

Tomorrow is Rainee's last P/T appointment, and DH is applying for the car loan.  This is the first time we as a married couple have borrowed money.  Its extremely scarey for both of us, and we're praying so hard that we're making the right decision.

The first 15 minutes Rainee had her pulse ox probe on she desatted 3x.  I guess that means she's still doing it.

I've decided there's no point in starting school with Zeria until after Rainee's tests next week. So we put that on hold.

My sister made the nummiest most scrumdidilyumptious cinnamon rolls for us today.  MMMMMMMMMMMM.  The whole house permeated with the lovely smell.  I saved two for DH.  And oh man do I wish I hadn't! ROFL.  They are calllllllllllllllllling my name.

I have a lovely new recipe for curry chicken.  And it really doesn't taste like curry is quite mild.  If anybody's intrested I'll post it.   It came from my SIL.  She made it when I was recovering from having Rainee, and MMMM!

Did I tell you about my kiddos ice cream party?  They snuck downstairs and took upstairs with them 16 dixie cups of ice cream.  Yep 16.  And man did they enjoy them.  *sigh*   It was a lovely party had by all, until their mommy caught them.

Princess actually has exzema again and I KNOW its the ice cream.  If I monitor her dairy intake closely she doesn't get it.  But 16 ice creams divided between 4 kids is a LOT of ice cream.

Princess is already planning her birthday and its over a month away.  LOL.  She's NOT getting a party this year.  She is gonna have a slumber party with my two nieces.  She's very eager about that.    Her very first slumber party.  So what is the cool thing to get for a 6 year old girl?   I'm kinda stumped on a birthday gift for her...

I KNOW what I'm getting HD for Christmas however.  I've already okayed it with DH. *grin*  He's gonna be the proud owner of some kind of reptile.   I have to research it between now and then.  Got a long ways to do that.  LOL  He just so loves anything reptillian and I know he'd take good care of it, and if he doesn't I will, 'cause I like creepy/crawly scally things.

Okay then DH is STILL not home, and I'm getting slightly worried.  Gonna get off in case he calls.  bye-bye

  • hehehehe  I got this from Tracie

  • Good morning

And our weekend was relaxing, and HOT.  And it was nice to actually have a weekend for the first time in an eternity.

The fog has rolled in this morning, but thats okay things needed to cool off a bit.

My sister officially graduated from high school on Saturday.  She graduated from home schooling.  And is hoping to go to Multnomah this fall.  It seems like yesterday she was 7.5 and coming to visit my family for the first time.  She visited for a weekend and then had to go back to her foster home for a week, and she left her bags behind in an attempt to "trick" the case workers into letting her come back in case they changed her minds.  She had decided very quickly that we were her forever family.  And we definitely are.

    My thankful list;

I'm thankful for my husband who works so hard at work and at home.

I'm thankful our van didn't leave us stranded this weekend.

I'm thankful for my kids playing quietly this morning.

I'm thankful for the lovely sun on the weekend.

I'm thankful for a God who is constantly washing me in grace.

Rainee's next set of tests are in a week and a half.  I'm trying hard not to get nervous about them.  And praying hard that we learn something that will help her.  And yet convinced that this next set of tests are a complete waste of my time and energy, and Rainee's good graces.  But we shall see.

I'm hoping to do school with Zeria this summer when my sister is here, but not sure how I'll find the energy to do it.  We shall see.

    Have a great day all

  • Good morning.

I have two children for sale cheap this morning.  They keep taking things that don't belong to them and "playing" with them, and messing them up.  Now this would be annoying but understandable if they were the toddlers, but their not.  Its the 5 year olds.  *sigh*

So, they got sent back to bed until daddy comes home.   (Which should be soon.)

So begins our 3 days off.   Really, really would like them to start minding.  *sigh*

Have Rainee's tests confirmed.  She will be doing the PH probe and sleep test on the 18th over at Childrens.  I'm dreading them as she's gotten much wigglier since last time, but hopefully all goes well.

Had a lovely time at the lake yesterday.  Was starting to head home cause kiddos were cranky when Alicia showed up.  So we turned around and stayed, and then my moms kiddos showed too.  So all and all we had a lovely time.

It only took me about 20 minutes, but I finally got wet and went for a short swim.  The water is still insanely cold.  As in can't move your fingers when your get out its so cold.  hehehe

So Kaylin's new toy is a shoe.  Yep a shoe.  She's been attatched to it for the last 24 hours.  She is quite thoroughly enjoying taking the laces out and putting them back in.  Y? I guess cause she can.

and well my mind is blank, so I guess thats all for now.

  • Goood mornin'

Its looking like its gonna be gorgeous again today.  I'm so enjoying this unexpected weather.    And we even snuck up to the lake yesterday.  *GRIN*

The water well it was cold, but it was still fun, and we'll probably do it again today if at all possible.

DH worked all night last night as planned on his new schedule.  So we're still waiting for him to get home.  And entertaining ourselves with PBS Kids while we wait.

Our van is still not running, and my DH is fiddling around in regards to a new van *sigh*  So wifey is trying hard to stay patient with the fact she's had no wheels for 4 days.

Not doing too well either LOL

Kaylin got BAD sun burn yesterday while my sis was baby-sitting.  She got a shirt on her when she realized, but the damage had been done, and she had hot/cold flashes from it last night.    BAD BAD BAD mommy for not getting sun screen.  So we have it now and the babies are getting slathered in it today!

The last time I went grocery shopping I bought some dixie cups of ice cream.  They were on sale, and I KNEW the kiddos would like them as a treat.  Well they did.  *sigh*  They took a bag of them upstairs and had a ice cream party.  I shoulda known that quiet is NOT a good thing with kids, but it was so nice to have them being quiet.  UGH.  So they ate a LOT of them and now the treat is gone.    I'm not sure how to handle this.  They are allowed snacks whenever, but their SUPPOSED to ask, so they can have appropriate snacks, or not ruin their dinner etc.  But they've started sneaking food and hiding it when I go investigate.

We're at the moment just gonna make sure we offer them several opportunities for snacks, and see if that helps the sneaky thing.  I DESPISE sneaky!

While up at the lake one of the ladies gave me a huge bag of freshly grown lettuce.  And I have some lovely hamburger already cooked with sauce on it, so we are gonna have the nummiest taco salads for lunch   My mouth is already watering.

The ladies at the lake have a huge greenhouse where they grow veggies and share with whoever whenever they can.  Its kinda community greenhouse, and is very cool.  Of course this means that the Coast Guard flies over it repeatedly 'cause there CONVINCED there's gotta ahem be something else in it.    There isn't, but hey it gives them a way to spend our tax dollars right?  ROFL

Hey Alicia come up and play the waters fine.  Okay its frigid, but our kids won't know, and we can visit.

  • Trying to upload a picture, xanga has been very ornrey about loading pictures lately.  UGH.

Well my van is dead.  We paid $160 to "fix" it.  Drove it home, loaded up the kiddos to go get my sisters car which I had used to go pick up the van from the shop, and the stupid sorry son of a skunk died again.

We had been praying hard about replacing it, and had put a fleece before God if it broke down in the next month we would replace it.  Well that didn't take long to break did it.    So we're excited as we know we're in God's will, and we're looking for a full size van.  AFTER we get a pre-approved loan.

Here's hoping the loan paper work isn't too much of a MAJOR pain in the butt!

And that we make a wise purchase.  Oh yes, and that we can figure out how to put it in our budget.

Got a call from Childrens Hospital, and RAinee's sleep study is scheduled for the 18th along with her PH probe.  I'm glad as the status quo right now is kinda frustrating.  We're hoping that for some mysterious reason she could get off oxygen, or the PH probe will reveal reflux and we can treat it, and the apnea will go away.  *sigh*

Bad mommy burnt Rainee and Kaylin in the sun.  We HAVE to get some sun screen, but well my stupid car hasn't let me get down to town.  *sigh*

Yeah it uploaded a picture.  Only took 5 minutes.  This is Kaylin who played too hard yesterday and had to walk a mile up hill to get back home after the van broke down.  So she got on mommy's lap for a nursey, and fell asleep.  She slept on my lap this way for a good 20 minutes.  *grin*

Rainee has figured out how to pull her oxygen out, so I started tying it in, so she figured out how to undo that.  Today she's wearing socks on her hands in an attempt to keep her from pulling it out.  And if that doesn't work she's gonna have to wear arm restraints at night.  I bawled when I heard that was the next option.  Can't my baby get a break??????????

The kids are absolutely loving the wading pool.    And if its nice tomorrow like it has been the last couple days when I get home from P/T with Rainee I think we're gonna do the lake for the first time.  Here's praying for sun.

Here's RaineeGrace in the swimming pool.  The pool started out full, but well 5 kids in that small of a pool we're replacing the water twice a day *grin*  She thought it was very very cool.

My husband and I had a lovely time this morning.  We just hid in our bedroom while sis was here and visited.  And yes you with dirty minds all we did was visit.  But we haven't been getting to do it much, and it was so nice.     We talked about the kids, and laughed, and I felt connected with him in a way I haven't in awhile, because I've just been too dang tired.

I'm struggling with a small decision about my faith.  And not sure how to handle it.  *sigh*  So thinking, thinking, thinking.  And praying for wisdom big time.

I got greedy and am trying to load up one more picture.  hehehe.

Our puppy is continuing to be a lovely dog.  And is sneaking into the house to sleep at night.  This is my choice and seems to be working okay.  As long as I remember to put the garbage up on the counter, as she has a thing for diapers.

I kinda want her in at night 'cause DH will be working nights Wednesday, and Thursday, and I prefer a dog to "protect" me when I have no DH.

I'm *grin* Watching Yours, Mine and Ours.  Now there's a truely good movie.     Though I have no idea to compete with 18 children.  ROFL

And in other movies X men 2 was fun too.  I snickered 'cause some of it kind of reminded me of the foolishness we do at Castle and Bereleth.  But hey, it was fun.

and the third picture doesn't want to upload, and I'm starting to blather.  ROFL

Yeah it uploaded.  The bottom picture is of my parents rhodies.  They were just gorgeous and I had to share.  *grin*

    Have a great day/night all :-d

  • STOP Tonia.  Put down the chocolate. It is armed and dangerous!!!!!!!
