  • Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    ~Why is my 4 year old running around the house singing...I'm a boy, I'm a boy, I'm a boy.

    Nevermind don't want to know!

Rainee bug has finally succumb to the cold the rest of us have had for several weeks.  So for its all upper airway...and we will see what happens from there.

Princess kept us up all night with her asthma cough.  The verdict on the Singulair so far is its NOT working!!!!  But every one says it takes upwards of 6 weeks...so I'll be patient.

Note to everybody.  When making popcorn the old fashioned way.  ALWAYS make sure the lid is firmly placed on top of the pan before it starts popping.    Otherwise one will be sweeping and cleaning popcorn up from the most unique places.   Yep, that would be me the insane mommmy of 5 who made popcorn without a lid on top.  VERY VERY messy!!!!

My children have discovered the joy of scotch tape.  Mommy finally had to forbid it.  In less then 15 minutes they emptied one whole container.

MOmmy now needs more to wrap pressie's.

Oh btw they were making "pressies" with it.  How does one make pressies....ummm take a piece of computer paper color on it for a bit.  Then take scotch tape and tape the piece of paper in a little bundle.  And give it to your mommy who tries very hard to be gracious as she eyes her computer paper rapidly disappearing before her eyes.

Sis is babysitting so mommy can take Rainee to doctors.  What would a week be without two trips to the doctors????

Ok well thats the random thoughts of the craziness going on in this house.

Sooooo how close to being ready for Christmas are you?

  • Had to rush out this morning and take Rainee and her rash to the doctor.  Its been going on for a month.  So the conclusion was its time to go to a dermatologist.  Which I knew was what she was gonna say.  Soooo tomorrow I get to go to the dermatologist.

What would a week be without at least 2 trips to the doctor???

Have the 'ils Christmas presents packed and sent via UPS.  And 98% of my Christmas cards sent.  I got to the P.O.  And realized that Wommie's wasn't there (sorry )  Sooo have the appropriate stamp to send to Australia...now just need to get the card ready.

I'm still willing to send anybody on my xanga list a Christmas card if they want me to.  Just need your addy.

And now I need to start wrapping presents, and wrapping presents, and so on.

Oh and if you need a really good laugh go visit Sandilyn's site and read her blog about pot-lucks.  I NEVER recommend blogs...but this one was just too funny.

  •

Sooooooo here we are in all our finery.  Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  DH gave me my Christmas present early 'cause I didn't have anything fine enough to match my gurls.  Everybody matched.  How cool is that?   I think the above picture is gonna be the grandparents Christmas present.  Cause I'm just not getting to a photographer...and I think that one turned out just fine.

As Christmas programs go.  Ours went and the Princess found her courage and sang.    Sang loud enough that everybody heard her.  I was very proud of her.  And thankful for answered prayer!

Sorry that the 4s and 5s picture isn't great.  But it gives you the idea.  (sort of )  HD got himself embarassed 'cause he saw mommy and said into the mike..."What did you say mommy?"  And of course the audience laughed, and he realized they were laughing at him...and he froze for a minute.  But mommy smiled big and said you can do it.  And all was better.

Then there was the 3 kings.  (That would be the 2s and 3's)  Only Princess got VERY mad and said....Kaylin's not a king she's a queen.  Couldn't argue with her.  ROFL

Oh in regards to Kaylin.  Daddy was talking to her about the program after it was all done.  This was the conversation.  You did a good job.  Did you have fun singing happy birthday to Jesus?  "I didn't sing~~my teacher did!"  Well she was right ROFL

    She sure looked cute though.

Even if it was the Two Kings and a Queen

  • Cooooool  Direct TV  has free previews of Veggie Tales & Penguins today.  My kids like that!

Sooooo what am I making for dinner???  Gotta do it quick.

And can you tell me what stupid mommy forgets the day of  their kids SS Christmas program?

Raising hand here....and I do NOT think the Princess will ever forgive me.   Don't worry its tonight we can still go and all that...its just that well the Princess likes a LOT of early warning time to get ready...and so she sobbed all the way through the rehearsal 'cause I'm just not ready for this'.    And she can say the words to her song backwards and forwards...and I've been listening to it for days....'but the Princess needed to be forewarned'.

Does it matter that I was convinced it was next week?  Nope not to the Princess.

And then there's the matter that mommy suggested the Princess where a different dress then the one she's worn every Sunday since she got it for Easter.    (Unless mommy makes her wear something else)  And then there's the matter that she fell getting out of the van and covered said dress in mud....and how dare the Princess be seen in mud?

And did I mention the fact that the Princess had to go potty VERY badly after SS and before church.  But there were two women in the stalls gabbing and taking there sweet time...and so she pead all over herself the floor...and about a inch in each shoe.

The Princess has NOT had a good day.   And she was sooooo excited about this program until her comic book day of things going wrong.

So today mommy and the Princess prayed at lunch time that she would find her courage.   And mommy is desperately hoping that things go MUCH better tonight then they did this morning.  What do you think the odds are?

  • Good morning

1 baby dressed....4 to go.  Two are in the tub as we speak.  They like to play in there as long as possible.  So I'm eating my breaky, and doing a blog.

Yesterday was a nice day.  I had this marvelous burst of energy that was a very big gift from God   And the kids and I used it to the best of our ability.

We made a recipe of cookable playdough and made Christmas ornaments for the cousins with it.   And then mommy baked them.  We had nap after this and we got up they helped me make Naan.  (Indian bread)  I had found a recipe on the net, but had never tried it.  And as it meant rolling a whole bunch of balls of dough...the kids were perfect helpers.  Even Kaylin got in on the act.  And it turned out very nummy.  Its definitely a must-make again.

Anyhow it was nice to be to putter around the house and not feel like I was dying.

HMMMM  sweet angel girls are fighting.  I think I shall ignore them.

Rainee's rash is almost cleared up.  The hydracortizone cream seems to be working!  I'm so greatful.

Our power did NOT go out again yesterday, for which I was greatful.  But we definitely had a nasty wind/rain storm.   Right now we have blue sky...but its raining...so who knows what we're gonna end up with.

May you all have a great day today.

Father God, let me be a pleasure to you today.  And focus on what you would have me do.  In your sons name, Amen

  •     Our beach pictures.    In no particular order.  LOL  Sorry about that.  The first is daddy and Rainee is waving to you.  She likes to wave a LOT.

The second I took on the trail we walked on to our beach.  I thought it was kinda pretty and you might enjoy it too.

Oh dear here's all of us but daddy.  What do ya think??  Do we have our hands full.  Absolutely every time we go out in public at least ONE person says that.  I just want to yell~~find an original comment!    Oh and the wave actually came under this piece of drift wood and got some of our feet wet shortly after this picture was taken.  (oops)

I think this next one is my favorite.  CAuse  its a action shot...just the monkeys having entirely too much fun.

And here's the goofy ones again

And here's their teeter totter they played on.

Well its raining cats & dogs.  And the power has blinked out briefly.  So who knows what this day holds.  I do know one thing.  I need to get the fire going again before the power goes out again.  And from then who knows what this day holds.  I have several ideas...but they may just go bye-bye, and I may just lay on the couch and try to get rid of this cough!

  • Good evening.

Today was a good day.  I guess resting yesterday paid off.   Cause I had a teensy burst of energy.

My mom called this morning and was looking for someone to run some peanut brittle out to a school for a fund raiser.  (She makes it for people to sale)  Anyhoo we decided we would do it, cause one of our favorite beaches is right beside the school.  So 15 minutes later we had the snow suits in the van, and the kids ready to go.

Picked up the brittle and drove out to the school about an hour or so away.  Delivered it and then went for a delightful walk/play on the beach.  We ended up walking over a mile all told, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.   The kids built a tee-totter on a piece of driftwood, and thought that was ever so grand.

And the "babies"  looked for sticks/rocks/shells etc.  It was so nice to take a break from the mundane, and its been way too long since we've had a lovely adventure.

Rainee Grace didn't particularly care for the driving...she's decided its kinda nasty to sit backwards in a car-seat.  Can't really blame her on that.     So she cried a lot.    But I guess everything can't be perfect right?

After the beach we decided to head to the local restaurant.  We had a nice relaxing and good lunch.  The kids were extremely well behaved and polite.     And then we headed home.  Having given the kids such lovely fresh air they slept all the way home.

And the weather~~it was beautiful until after we got into the restaurant and then it started pouring...so God planned it just right for us.  Which was just way too cool!

I have pictures, but xanga won't let me upload.    So I'll try tomorrow.

  • I have xanga block.  Having a hard time motivating myself to sit at the computer.  So I may take a small break.

I have all my Christmas shopping done.    I ended up getting dh a punching bag, and a cd player for his car.  The punching bag was something he's been dropping hints about.   The cd player is because he does an hour drive one way with NO music of any kind in his car, because it got stolen a couple years ago, and never replaced.

So now I just need to get it installed for him before Christmas.

Well that's about all my brain can think to type, and on that note I got disconnected....UGH.

I'm just so tired and unmotivated.  I still have this wretched cough.  And all I've done today is watch tv, nap, and a small amount of shopping this morning.    My sister was here to help, so I ignore my kids way too much today.

Though we did have a nice snuggle on the couch and read the Luke 2 account of Christmas just before bed.

God is good,  All the time.  All the time God is good.

  • I posted this at one of my boards, but wanted to keep it for posterity at xanga.  ;)   Besides I thought maybe somebody would need a good laugh at my expense.

So, today I took all 5 kids with me grocery shopping.  I've only done this like 3 times, because well theirs just too many of them, and their all too young.  hehe.  5, 4, 2, 1, and 7 months.

Anyhoo.  Daddy needed a kid break, so mommy thought *I* can do this.  HA!   We went to the grocery store.  3 kids in the cart.  And 2 kids walking.   This went pretty well.

We've been working VERY hard on in public manners and its paying off pretty well.   :) :) :)   Zeria and Samuel helped me by getting stuff from the shelves, and putting it in the cart.  They do a good job.

Things were going way too well.  ;)    We got up to the check register.  And everybody starts unloading.  Kaylin (2.5)  thinks she needs to "help" unload.  Ok, I suppose you can get down.

She unloads, but puts the stuff in the already run through pile.  The cashier fortunately has a sense of humour and grabs each of her items and scans it rather then letting us shop-lift.  She is sooo tickled to help, and just does NOT get where she's supposed to put the groceries.

Things are still going smoothly.  Wow, this is just too easy.   So the kids grab the big pop boxes to put up.  Look mom, I'm strong!   Samuel says.  Zeria thinks hmmm I can do that too.  So she lifts up one as well.  Ok this is a little nerve racking, but not bad.   Then the bag-lady says,  oh we only need one of those.  As Sam goes for his second one.  I say Sam its okay put that one back where it was.  And BANG  the box opens up and there are 12 pop cans rolling all over the floor.  :-O

We scramble around pick up the pops put them in the box "CAREFULLY"  and put the open end pointing up.

I go to reach for the 10 pound box of oranges.  (they were on a awesome sale)  Pick it up and the bottom falls out.  Oranges ROLLING EVERYWHERE.   people behind us pick them up, all the kids pick them up, their by the cashiers feet.      Turn this box over and put the oranges in the upside down box.

Breathe deeply.  They offer me a new box of oranges (it being faulty)  I said, "Oh no don't worry about it the oranges will still taste good."  The cashier smiles and says,  well at least you know there all good now."

Quickly pay and leave.   HMMMM do I get a prize for entertaining the whole store????

    BWAHAHAHAHA

  • Okay EVERYBODY I do mean everybody. Go do a happy dance with Tracie  and celebrate the fact that she's pregnant.  She's been trying sooooooo hard, since before I got pregnant with Rainee, and it finally happened.  And I'm just way too happy for her.
