  • Good morning

    Life goes on.

Yesterday we were without power from 12:30-5:30.  My sis as a result didn't get much laundry done.    And my kids learned all about living in the olden days.    And it is PITCH dark by 5:30 these days.

I called it in when I got home at 2:30 (thank you God that I have a cell-phone!)  Cause we only have a electric phone...so couldn't even call.   Gonna remedy that today if possible.  Gotta have a back up phone besides the very unreliable cell phone.  anyhoo it was JUST us that was without power.  So if I hadn't called (which I almost didn't)  We would have been without for a VERY long time.  The transformer on the top of our very own special pole went out...and so lucky us we got to learn to live without the tv, the computer, and so on.  It sure made the house nice and quiet.

You forget how much noise things like the ceiling fans, the refrigerator etc make until your without them.  Oh you also remember how greatful you are you don't live in the olden days.

Last night was the last day of Cubbies until January.  It was also the Cubbies Christmas party.  HD for  unknown reasons decided not to go.  He was just crying and crying when his ride came.    So he stayed home with me, and never did say why he was crying.

So Princess went alone, and was entrusted with HD's goodies to bring home to him.  That was a unwise choice!  LOL  She did NOT understand that responsibility.  Soooo she looted her candy bag until it was empty.  Opened all the little gifts (hers and HDS)  And then decided the empty bag was HDs (all that was in it with bubbles)  And thought she was being very generous sharing that.    It was a sad and grieved little girl when mommy finally communicated that that was HD's bag.   Life as a 5 year old just sucks bwahahaha

So back to town I run today.  But for mommy's break this time.  Rainee's doctor appointment yesterday was with a dermatologist not the normal doctor.  And yes I think I should get frequent flyer miles for doctors!  Anyhoo I need to go pick up one of the things the doctor recommended yesterday.  I got the meds, but ran out of time to make another stop before Bible Study.  The thing?  Well its been recommended that I cover her in Saffola oil each and every time she has a diaper change.  Yep thats right cooking oil.    Sooooo gotta go get some 'cause I only have Canola in the house.  bwahaha

In regards to Canola a little known fact~~Canola oil is actually made with Rape seed.  My grandpa and mom both grew up in a area of the country that grew it almost exclusively.  To make  matters worse....my mom was born in Sexsmith.  And when she grew up and got married she lived on Hooker Rd.  It makes for a very good story!

    rofl about your moms story.

  • LOL at your poor mom. We lived on a Hooker Road once too. At least she didn't live on Hoare Rd. My friend does and she hates it. Of course, it's named after the Hoares, but still....Have a great day. Glad that you have power.

  • Your mom could have been born in Intercourse, PA...  Enjoy your holidays too...and I hope the New Year brings health and lots of doctor-free days!   ~Spot~

  • I am LOL at that story!!!!

  • What unfortunate names!

I wonder why handsome dude chose to miss cubbies...
