Month: May 2002

  • Its a Birthday!

Samuel theGene (Eugene)  is 4 years old   And as excited can be about it.

For the next two months he and Zeria are twins.  (both 4)  And they think that is VERY cool

Samuel though my second oldest child was my first baby.  I got him when he was 3.5 months old.  And enjoyed every minute of his babyhood.  He was a cuddly baby.  And an adventurous creative and mischieveous toddler/preschooler.  He keeps my laughing, and jumping as I never know what he's gonna discover to play with next.

Today he got his first BIG BOY bike.

And we are going to go down to the water front to let him ride it on flat smooth surface.  But I had to say

    Happy Birthday Samuel!!!  First

A present from mae mae.....Isn't it cute

    Thanks Sarah!!!!!  I love it

  • Good morning

Rainee slept on her own most of the night (not snuggled in somebody's arms)  It was VERY nice.  Of course I was up to nurse her several times, but mostly I just kinda latch her on and drift back to sleep.  This morning from 5:15-6:30 she was semi-fussy, and I was a getting groggy, and no Rob to pass her to as he's at work, but then she went out hard, and is still asleep at 8:20.  In the bassinet NOT my arms.  I love newborns, but oy one needs to be free of them once and a blue moon!  I just wish the other 4 were still asleep because I could sleep then too.  Oh well can't have too many wishes satisfied!

I got a new computer chair.  My old one had one leg that was going.  It wasn't a "real" computer chair, just very very comfortable.  My new one is not as comfortable   But at least its got all its working parts.  I went to get out of the old one Wednesday evening with Rainee in my arms, and the leg died.........and I started trying to catch myself and was terrified Rainee was gonna get hurt.  She didn't.  But I have a couple bruises from the chair I tripped over and landed on.  I'm just sooooooo grateful Rainee was fine.  The bruises will be gone in a couple days.

I was gonnna take my kids to the park today, but its RAINING.  *sigh*  I guess God didn't think I was ready for an adventure with all 5 of them yet.

Okay I spoke too soon Rainee's awake and crying.  Gotta go........

  • Hip-hip-hoooray!  Rainee is now 5 weeks old, and I'm actually starting to feel human!

I did my bi-monthly grocery shopping trip today without Rob to "mommy-sit" and did quite fine.

Zeria & Rainee came with me.  Rainee because she's attatched to my milk supply   And Zeria because she's been having some trouble with attitude and I figured some mommy time would help.  It did

Zeria asked about five gazillion questions.  And one answer propagated 15 more questions and so on and so forth.  OY!  I told her she was making my brain tired.  She just laughed and asked 6 more questions.

We discussed why men go to jail (in great detail)  Rob works at a Correctional Facility so that's why the fascination.  And many many other things.  It was kinda fun because I didn't have the other kids bopping around swirling my head up so I could concentrate on conversation with Zeria.  And for the most part Rainee slept so it didn't feel like she was hardly with us.

We went to Goodwill today and I managed to get summer wardrobes for 3 of my kids.  Kaylin was pretty set and didn't need much, and Rainee has all of her clothes.    (too many lol)  So that was fun.  I love coming away with this mongo bag of clothes that I only spent $30 on

I had an emotional meltdown last night.  Long story.  And called Rob in tears.  He just let me cry over his shoulder.  And I was doing the I'm a bad parent thing etc.  Well after he got off the phone Zeria came down stairs (she was supposed to be asleep)  And said very very seriously Mommy, I need to tell you something.  She came right up to my nose and gave me this big hug and said you are very very special mommy!  AWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Father God, thanks for bringing me so far in the recovery process.  I thank you for your love, and your grace in your sons name Amen!

    The seriousness of reading............................

  • Good evening

Rainee is in the swing.  I'm sure it won't last long.    I told her that it was MY boob and I needed it to have a break.  I know over sharing.    I hope there's no guys surfing my site tonight.  HEHEHE

Rob is at work tonight.  And we all went to my mom's house for Bible study.  It was a nice break.

My extended family is doing much better, though their are still issues just not as urgent right now.

Jamari has learned to dance it is entirely too funny.  He shakes his little booty and waves his arms in time to the music.  Man I wish I had a camcorder!

Rainee is officially OUT Of her newborn clothes.  And she's only 4.5 weeks old.  *Sigh*  The 3-6 month clothes are NOT gonna fit her long she's just sooooooooo big.  Not gonna have a newborn long.  boo hoo hoo.

I'm still doing a lot of sleeping, but I think that's more because Rainee is nursing every two hours around the clock.  And it would make anybody tired   I do NOT have tons of energy yet however.  I finally got around to sorting through a whole bunch of used clothes given to me for Rainee & Jamari.  It only took me a half hour.  First profitable thing I've done since Rainee was born, and when I was done I felt like I had worked all day long.  OH well baby steps.

Okay Rainee's starting to fuss....so I guess the boob becomes hers again.

  • i survived my first week without dh!!!!   i havent been blogging because rainee will not let me put her down......typing this one handed holding her.  when i can put her down  i run to the bathroom, grab some food, and cuddle one of my other babies....one of these days i'll get a little more time.  but i'm enjoying it in spute of my exhaustion and very greatful that i made the decision to take the paxil it isorking well, and i'm enjoying the calmness of spirit!

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWw

Do you know how impossible it is to get 6 people to smile at the camera at once?  Do you know how impossible it is to get 6 people to LOOK good at once?  And then what happens?????  The battery dies after one picture.  *sigh*  Try again in 5 years ROFL

OH yes, and you know the cropping ability on digital cameras????  I really, really, really LOVE it!!!!!  Because it makes the above picture turn into a pretty cute picture......

Yesterday was our 3rd Anniversary.  We spent approximately 5 minutes together.    It was Rob's first day back to work.  And he let me sleep in until the last possible moment before he had to leave.  And I was asleep when he got home from work at 11 pm.  How romantic huh????

Actually we had already agreed to postpone it due to the fact that we ahem aren't allowed to "enjoy" each other for a couple more weeks.  LOL  And then I'm hoping we can plan a trip to Friday Harbor.   We did that for our first anniversary and really enjoyed it.

I didn't do a sappy anniversary post yesterday, because well I forgot it was my anniversary until quite late in the day.  ROFL   And by that time I'd used all my mental energy up babying Rainee and her growth spurt.  I think I nursed her for 5 hours straight yesterday.  That was the reason for the MOOOOOOOOOOOo!  yesterday.    And 1/4 of that time Kaylin was attatched to the one Rainee wasn't using.  It was a LONG day.

The kids were good however, so that was very nice, and today I had help pretty much all day and that was even better.

Tonight while eating dinner Samuel discovered a new delicacy.  I can't say that I recomend it, or have any desire to try it, but he apparently enjoyed it quite a bit.  He had banana a la ketchup.  (BLUCHY BLUCHY BLUCHY)   I'm all for ketchup on hot dogs, and french fries, and hamburgers, but I REFUSE to try it on banana, I'll trust Samuel that it tastes good.  (BLUCHY)

Sunday morning shortly after the above picture was taken Rainee had a blow out diaper.  I layed her in the change table at church went to remove her tights and the contents of the diaper went EVERYWHERE.  My hair, my face, etc.   YUCK!!!!   It was a first.

Tonight I had another first.  *sigh*  And it involves the same substance.  Are you grosed out yet?  Samuel had a headache after going to bed, so I went up to help him, only to find Kaylin buck naked in her crib covered in yep you guessed it.  Apparently she was using it for finger paint.  om om om it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Disgusting.     I had to give her a complete bath she had the substance from head to toe.  BLUCH!  She shares a room with her sister and Zeria was already asleep, so in the morning I get to figure out how to clean up the mess she left up stairs.  *sigh*  HMMMM do you think Rob would clean it up      She's asleep in Rainee's crib downstairs, as Rainee is still sleeping in bed with us.

Ok no more grose stories.  I promise (well at least for today )

I am doing much better.  My extended family is still struggling a LOT. And I still can't go into the details of why.  And to top things off my mom got a call Saturday night that my grandpa was dying.  So she dropped everything and made the 20+ hour drive to go see him.  He's in Grande Prairie, AB.  He's starting to do a little better, so it may have been a false alarm, he's over 80 and had a long healthy life, and no regrets.  So time will tell what is really gonna happen.  In the meantime my dad is playing chauffeur, babysitter, and housewife to the 6 at home.    I guess its a good thing he's out of work right now *sigh*

So I continue to take one day at a time, and am slowly feeling better each day.  Some day I will have the energy to start leaving comments on peoples blogs again.

To my new subscribers I'm SOOOO sorry I haven't been by to visit and say thanks,  I hope to do it soon, but no promises.

His strength is perfect, when our strength is gone.
