Month: October 2001

  • Good morning, Sorry no blog the last two days. I've been insanely busy.

And I tried blogging twice and got interrupted LOL.

    Short of it

Friday a 3 year olds birthday party--lots of good visiting with the moms :) And a clingy Kaylin

Friday night a tupperware party--at which my dad & brothers & sisters (the ones living at home) were supposed to have my kids. But they got lost. So they ended up at the tupperware party with me--kinda waste of a party. But my sister didn't have very many warm body's there so I HAD to go.

Yesterday I took my CPR/First aide class--to update my fostercare license for James sake. Yes we are adopting him--but we get him sooner if we do the fostercare thing for a bit.

Robs been doing swing all week--which he hasn't done in almost 2 years--so this has been hard on us as a family. He's home Sunday morning and gets to go to morning church--something that RARELY happens.

A little hard on my schedule. LOL. Plus my kids slept in this morning.

Friday on the way home from the birthday party having just enough time to eat & turn around & go to the tupperware party. I forgot what the red line on the gas gauge meant. And ran out of gas 2.5 miles from home. SIGH. So babied the van about 100 yards and it died in the middle of the road. (deserted country road) NO shoulder. Had to leave it there--was a straight stretch. And walked into a neighbors--3 kids in tow--only about 500 feet (phew) And borrowed his phone. My brother came & rescued me--and for the next 6 months every time I see him I'll be reminded what that red line means. ROFL.

Oh and then I had to do a 30 minute run (15 minutes one way) to go get gas before I could go home.

Do you see why I haven't blogged?? LOL

More details of the last two days soon to follow--but I have to go to church in 5 minutes. ttyl :)

  • I HEARD A HEART BEAT!!!!!

I was so so so so nervous. I wanted to hear one so bad, and was praying so hard--but new it was a tinge early (just 12 weeks) and I am "big", but I heard one

I LOVE my midwife. She's so awesome. And she has cool nurses too. My uterus is bigger then it should be--so I have to schedule an early ultrasound tomorrow morning at the hospital. I KNOW my dates are right---but who knows?? Twins I say that when I want to see my husband freak totally LOL

And my midwife said, so when did you wean Kaylin--I said I haven't. She said that's fine. (Another hurdle passed) She said there was nothing wrong with it. Keeping in mind if I start dialating at 30 weeks or something then it would be instant weaning--which I already knew. So I'm gonna keep on the VERY slow gentle wean (don't ask don't offer) and go from there.

I'm still VERY reluctant to tandem nurse.....but I also do NOT want to take Kaylin's morning nurse away from her. decisions, decisions. I also know that "James" coming will be VERY hard on her. And nursing will be her "special" thing....so I guess I'll keep praying.

    But I'm still sooooooo excited--I HEARD a heartbeat I know, I know I already said that But I did--I heard a heartbeat!!!

  • I STINK! I want a shower at my own house. But alas no water for 48 hours is turning into no water for 72 hours.

So whine whine I guess I will go to my moms and shower there. UGH!

You never know how greatful you are for small ammenities until you loose them....

  • Good morning. I'm late today on my blog and my h2h stuff. Cause I had to stay off the phone so I could talk to James caseworker.

She is a cool person. And is currently doing up a photo album of the baby pictures she has of him We will NOT have newborn stuff, but at least he'll have something.

It will be at least 3 more weeks until we can get him. Because they want our foster care license done. But thats ok--maybe I'll be done morning sickness by then.

I have his foster mom's phone number and will get to start interacting with her.

I found out he has BAD reflux. So I need to do some research on that.

And I found out he has an angel watching over him! His mom & dad were NOT in a good situation with him. And his auntie drove all over the city looking for him. Found him...brought him to her house for the weekend, then called the case worker--and told her what had happened. It could have been a BAD scene--but he was still clean, and NOT traumatized. Thank you God for protecting him!

Today Rob is desperately trying to fix our water before he goes to work. I sure hope it works--I stink! LOL

If it doesn't I need to go to my moms and clean up. I have my first midwife appointment tonight--the invasive one (EWW) And I will not go smelling like this

Kaylin is apparently gonna be a crank today. Its getting too cold for her to be outside--and she's NOT impressed. I put the snow suit on her--but that hinders movement--and that wasn't acceptable. Oh well she better get used to it--or its gonna be a LONG winter.

Have to run into town this afternoon & get Kaylin's aerochamber/mask & albueterol...the mask was on backorder on Tuesday. I think I'm also gonna go get another button sweater for me. I've been LIVING in mine. (a cardigan) and its gettin' kinda ugly. They had some really nice ones at Wal-mart. For very reasonable.

    Thought for the day.....

Matthew 25:34Then the King will say to those on the right, `Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'
37"Then these righteous ones will reply, `Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' 40And the King will tell them, `I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,[4] you were doing it to me!'

What are you doing for others?

  • Took the kids for french fries before Cubbies tonight. And we ran into Samuels bestest friend/enemy depending on the day. They were talking a mile a minute. It was his friends birthday. And they talked about that...and then started the one-upmanship. And yes, its starts early in boys/men. LOL Then the winner--Samuel says...."WE've gota new dad!"

I was completely speechless!!!! UMMM nope you don't. You've had your dad for a LONG time LOL. Since you were about 11.5 months actually. ROFL! I thought my friend was gonna die laughing. I was just trying to come up with why????? LOL

  • Well for those who missed it.....

We now have a floor in the lean-to.

Ok can you tell I'm excited. LOL

And it managed to dry--without a dog, or kid footprint in it (hehe) It looks soooooo good. So tomorrow I will get water. (48 hours without instead of 24) Because the floor will NOT be strong enough until tomorrow to take the weight of the pressure tank. And Rob does NOT have enough time this morning to do it. Besides poor guy he was out until 11:30 last night working on the concrete. He had to go out every hour or so and re-work it. UGH!

So Friday...I think I'm gonna go to Silverdale the "real" shopping center, and see if I can find a french door for it. We're gonna have french doors in our bedroom. And Friday Rob & my brother will drop the backroom back down onto the concrete. Monday & Tuesday--we are declaring HOLIDAY lol. We NEED a vacation before we start the re-wiring & drywall.

I read this in Matthew this morning...seemed appropriate some how. Think on it for awhile. I like the "but don't panic part." And the fact that EVERYONE will hear the good News of the gospel BEFORE Christ returns. I KNOW that hasn't happened yet.....and EVERYBODY doesn't hate us yet. So I don't think Christ will be returning tomorrow. But hey I could be wrong

4Jesus told them, "Don't let anyone mislead you. 5For many will come in my name, saying, `I am the Messiah.' They will lead many astray. 6And wars will break out near and far, but don't panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won't follow immediately. 7The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. 8But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come.
9"Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because of your allegiance to me. 10And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11And many false prophets will appear and will lead many people astray. 12Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13But those who endure to the end will be saved. 14And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then, finally, the end will come.

Its raining outside today--HARD I'm so glad it waited until today--the men would have been SO miserable had they had to work in this yesterday. And my kids would have HATED not being able to watch the men work. And "helping" them

Kaylin learned how to climb up the ladder on our swing set yesterday. And must have done it 500x throughout the day. She still remembers falling this spring--so was VERY cautious when she was up there. And REFUSED to slide down without holding onto one of us. She had sooooooo much fun.

    Have a great day everyone!

  • What my baby looks like right now--compliments of a internet friend :)

  • We have Poured! We Have Concrete!!! I'm so Excited. Some day we may have 2 new bedrooms. YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!!!

Now we only have to figure out how to keep the kids out of it for the next 24 hours. And yep--I haven't been doing too well. Kaylin put pea gravel on it, Samuel put leaves, dirt--and 2 big holes with a stick. But my 20 month old nephew he did the best--He pushed on the backdoor--NOT knowing it would open--it opened. He saw daddy decided to walk to him. No problem right?? WRONG between him and daddy was a LOT of very wet concrete. 4 BIG foot prints, 3 hand prints and one VERY scared toddler. *sigh* And a ticked bil--whose watching these kids--well we were DUH it was a accident But fortunately the rest of the men had a good sense of humour. ALLS WELL THAT ENDS WELL!

  • Matthew 22:37Jesus replied, " `You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.'[15] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39A second is equally important: `Love your neighbor as yourself.'[16] 40All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."

Love....its so stinkin' hard. There are so many times its MUCH MUCH easier to be selfish--and yet we're called to love God with all our heart, soul, & mind. and our neighbour as ourself. I guess I'll contemplate that today.....and get convicted. (tee hee)

Today is the day we pour concrete. The first thing that has to be done is Rob takes out the pressure tank. This makes me NERVOUS. Cause he's NEVER done something like that before--and we kinda need that when the concrete's hard--or we will Have NO water. As it is we will be without it for 24 hours. Please pray that everything goes smoothly. I'm trying not to think about it...because if I do, I'll get nervous. LOL

I took Kaylin to the doctor--and she gave me a prescription for albuterol. So here we go again...I was really hoping one of my kids wouldn't have asthma--guess that was a false hope. *sigh* But it sure made a IMMEDIATE difference. She only coughed twice, and was happy all morning. Hadn't seen that in a week. Now I'm feeling bad about not doing it sooner. *sigh*

She has gained 6 whole ounces in 6 months--man to have that girls metabolism. But she also grew almost 4 inches--so the doctor didn't obsess about weight which made me HAPPY! And it was an intern--and she knew her stuff--and just said This weight chart is made for formula babies, she isn't--so it doesn't apply to her. Now I knew that, but I hadn't heard a doctor say it yet--so I was excstatic about that. (I got a LOT of grief at one of her checkups about her weight, feeding her whole milk etc, etc.) It wasn't her "real" doctor--so that made me even more ticked. LOL I will NOT be going back to that particular doctor. But I sure wish this intern would stay!

Well the sun is coming up--and its gonna be beautiful. And I'm ready (NOT) to face this day.....so I guess I should go do it. LOL

Oh yes, and Sandilyn--dh said--he doesn't want cooking lessons And he also said, "I bet her dh doesn't cook." (I chose to stay out of that battle hehehehehe)
