Good morning. Its raining today. So much for the plans of going to the beach. Rob's at work. My housework is almost caught up....about 45 minutes of work or so. So what to do with a blank slate day? Lay on the couch and read all day?? Or find something fun. Reading is sounding pretty good right now....of course I'll read two sentences, and then the kids will want something, and then two words, and they'll want something else. oh well. HMMM what to do.
We had unexpected people to show up and work on the lean-to yesterday. Someday that space may actually be two bedrooms & a lean-to. My mom & my 6 adopted siblings came up and did some grunt work. And my bil & sis & nephew came up and worked too. My bil & my hubby were able to get one wall completely re-framed.
I felt bad, cause I wasn't working. But, their were too many chiefs and no Indians anyway. And somebody had to chase my 3 kids, my nephew, and the littlest of my adopted sibs. So I guess that was my job. As well as getting my laundry caught up.
Doing laundry in a room with a dirt floor proposes some intresting problems. Y is it dirt...because we pulled the floor out, to put new in...but first we have to do the framing, and leveling and such first. *sigh* So in the meantime everything that drops on the ground on the way from the washing machine to dryer gets re-washed as its dirtier then when it started. (OOPS) And if it drops after the dryer same thing. Gotta love "real" floors. lol
Hey did you know that claw thing on the back of a hammer. IS NOT for pulling nails? Well, that's what I was told. Rob used his brand new hammer for pulling nails, and it broke. Was less then a half hour old. So I took it back to the shop...and I was told (very loudly) that he had been abusive to it and they would NOT replace it. Here I am in the throws of morning sickness...man I was soooooo proud of myself for the things I did NOT say. But I sure should of puked on him! He eventually backed down--its amazing what staying silent will do. And says he will ask the manufacture if they can do anything. I'll believe it when I see it. I'd go somewhere else for wood & stuff...but we only have 2 lumber stores in town and their both owned by the same person. So, I guess I'll continue to deal with Mr. Cranky. Who actually turned out being ok in the end. Even carried a Monster big box of nails to the van for me without asking if I need him to. (Gotta love chivalry--its not completely dead)
So tell me....what would you do if you were 6 weeks pregnant and chasing 3 toddlers. And everybody else is working. Would you feel guilty. I did. My sisters 4 months pregnant and she was working. My mom has a bad back and she was working. Me I chased toddlers. Nobody said anything...but I still felt a tinge of guilt. But I knew I couldn't work...and besides we have a road right beside our house--and my little sibs are not responsible enough to make sure the babies stay off the road. *sigh* I'm sure my family all thinks I'm slackers right now.
Father God, its raining outside, and I have a whole day of entertaining kids ahead of me. Show me what to do with it. How to have fun with the kids, in spite of the weather. Keep Rob safe at work, and allow him to be a witness especially to the P.A. there. Today tends to be my cranky day. I ask that you would enable me to rise above that. I love you! Amen

Hope you have a good day.
Yes I would feel guilty, but I know Dan wouldn't let me work. Really tho if you didn't watch the kids who would have?
Chasing three toddlers IS working!!!!! Especially when you're pregnant! Don't you feel guilty!!!!! You do so much already, I can tell just in the short time I've been reading your blogs!
Sorry your beach day didn't work out as planned.
Try to get some quiet time reading... I love to read, too... and like you - it's hard to find that time to read more than a page or two!
Hope you have a good day, despite the rain!
Taking care of the babies is priority #1. When I couldn't help I would bake things for everyone to eat. They always seemed to appreciate that!
chaseing the kids around is working. you were doing your part. I would have done the same thing. Have a good day.
